Connected to WIFI but no internet connection

Hi,
 
My laptop says I am connected to my WIFI network however when I open a browser the message 'no internet connection' appears. I have tried to plug it directly into the router via an ethernet cable but this also was unsuccessful. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and any solutions?
 
Please help.
 
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

    If you have a smartphone make a hot spot and make sure your laptop can connect to it. If that works see if the smartphone can connect to the wifi.

    sounds like your internet is down who is your service provider?
    probably need to make trouble ticket good luck!!!

    Right click on the network icon on your taskbar...choose open Network and Internet settings...then choose change connection properties.  Make sure you are set to Private network.

    1st place to start though is look at his modem of his isp to see if has service my bet is he don't is was working say yesterday not today more than likely a internet problem but been wrong before,there are many scenarios.
     
    you will be hooked to wifi signal from modem or router but my not be in sync.
