I just did the 2.04 bios update on one Z97 FTW bios "channel." On reboot got 3 short beeps with 4F code seen on the motherboard. I used the update method through the previous bios (1.08). I thought I'd switch over to the other channel with bios 2.02 and create a bootable flash drive with 2.04 bios files added but the boeard would not even get that far... same 3 beeps and 4F. Is my board "half dead" now? I do have the other bios channel with 2.02 that runs perfectly. Not ready for a new board quite yet.

I've tried that in the past and this time too but I can't get it to work. I click on the .bat file (as admin) and it says "The system cannot find the path specified.
'fptw64' is not recognized as a n internal or external command, operable program or batch file." If I click on the fptw64.exe file I get a page of dos-like commands. Am I missing something? In the past I've always used a bootable flash drive to update the bios for this and several previous evga boards (obviously I'm a fan).

Should be as simple as... downloading a fresh copy of the bios from the evga website, creating a folder on your c:\ drive named evga, extracting the contents of e977_flashtool_204.zip file to the evga folder on your c:\ drive, running update.bat as admin.

Yup. Did that. Same result. Again, in the past 15 years or so with at least 4 evga boards I have never gotten that method to work. Always get "The system cannot find the path specified.
'fptw64' is not recognized as a n internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Update on the update: Finally got this method to work: Set bios switch to the "good" bios, 2.02, and booted to a bootable flash drive with the update on it. Then switched the bios switch to the "bad" bios, the dead 2.04. Ran the update.bat from there and voila! Thanks Sajin for your help. Though I just wonder why running update.bat from Windows has never worked for me. I do get to the dos screen but after typing the requested y is when I get the ain't gonna work message. Tried lower case as well as capital y.
