Today I upgraded the Graphic driver and rebooted the machine.  Windows automatically installed the updates and reconfigured.   The boot process went well until the screen flickers for a second and then went into a black screen. Mouse icon is still shown and can be moved around using touch pad.  However the windows didn't boot into login screen. After 1 hour waiting , nothing changed.    Is anyone there also experiencing the same issue before?

Thanks.

This has been a common question/complaint.

What is your SC17's laptop BIOS version?  Enter the SC17's BIOS menu by mashing the "F2" key repeatedly during initial power-on/boot, and then view the BIOS version number displayed in the bottom-right corner.  If you haven't yet updated to BIOS version 1.06 or later, update to BIOS version 1.06 or later.  Some earlier SC17 BIOS versions had some major boot, display, and Windows 10 Update issues with the latest patched version of Windows 10 and newer NVIDIA drivers.

BIOS version 1.06 change notes:
Fixes black screen / boot delay issue for affected SC17 1070 laptops.

From any working computer, download the most recent BIOS version.
https://www.evga.com/support/download/
Tab: "Other Products" -> Category: "Laptop" -> Part Number: On the back of your laptop -> Type: "BIOS"

Then, from that working computer, open up that compressed file which you just downloaded, and copy only the "SC17****.bin" file to a working USB drive.

Then, boot up your SC17, enter the BIOS menu by mashing the "F2" key repeatedly during boot, plug the USB drive into the SC17, select the "Save & Exit" tab near the top of the BIOS interface, select "Restore Defaults", and then, after the BIOS has been reset to default settings, select the "Select BIOS File" option below the "BIOS Firmware Update" heading, choose the "SC17****.bin" file on the USB drive, and perform the BIOS update process.

Once the BIOS has been updated, Windows should boot properly.  If Windows for some reason became corrupted during this event and will not boot properly, you can reinstall Windows using the Windows 10 Media Creation tool from any working computer.  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Good luck!

Bios version 1.01 here thanks for the f2 tip could not figure out how to get into the bootup. Have had the blank boot up screen for about a week now. Problem is I'm a truck driver in a truck stop trying to figure out how to update the bios without a way to download onto the usb... but at least I got optimized defaults set 🙂

Yep chatted with tech support and they emailed me the bios update. Now all I gotta do is gain access to a computer when I get back to Fort Worth.

Well the 1070 Gsync Laptop worked great until the latest video card driver update. Now none of the fans will ever come on resulting in overheat lockups. Was finally able to be quick enough to get Precision X Mobile uninstalled and am now able to use the laptop. I have not tried anything that produces a lot of heat like high end gaming. What we need is the ability to manually control the laptop fans. I'm not concerned with power use or noise level I just need to be able to use the laptop. So if tech support could be decent enough to allow us that ability it would be much appreciated. I have been very patient with issues since January but if this stuff keeps happening then I'm gonna be returning the laptop...
