Okay, I have an Evga x99 micro 2 motherboard and just recently I've been noticing that when it boots up it doesn't show the bios splash screen ever. Well tried to check my overclock and when I clicked delete while booting up my debug code stuck on Ab which I have no clue what that means. I have downloaded the new Bios update on my thumb drive and have it ready but I can't seem to get to Bios. I was able to get into once two days ago when I booted up after coming home from work and it said Bios version 1.01. Anyone have any ideas on how to help? Also i tried the whole holding shift restart and going through windows recovery something to get to the bios screen, for some reason the last thing to click that leads you to the bios never pops up there.

If you can still get into Windows, you could flash the BIOS that way.  Just make sure your settings are set to default and if you're still not able to get into the BIOS for that, you could also try resetting the BIOS by hitting and holding down the little red button in the rear I/O panel.

Try pressing the "F2" key repeatedly as your system boots instead of the "delete" key.  See if that works better.

Ab means your in the bios. Are you running sli? If yes, make sure your display cables are connected to the primary card and not the secondary card.

Obviously you don't have a screen issue if you can get into windows.

Follow these steps to flash from Windows.

    Windows Installation

    • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
             151-HE-E999-KR - EVGA X99 Classified - v2.06
             150-HE-E097-KR - EVGA X99 FTW-K - v2.05
             150-HE-E997-KR - EVGA X99 FTW - v2.05
             131-HE-E995-KR - EVGA X99 Micro - v2.05
             131-HE-E095-KR - EVGA X99 Micro2 - v2.05

    • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
    • Close all open programs.
    • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
    • Press Y to start the flash process
    • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
    • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
    • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

    Hope this helps.

+1 and that procedure should resolve this. One little thing, sometimes you have to type a capital Y and not a lower case y to start the flash process.

I've been able to get to bios only by waiting like 3-6 hours of the pc being off and then turning it on which when it boots up let's me get to bios that one time.

Do you have another keyboard and mouse you could try?

Are your dp cables vesa certified? What happens if you only use hdmi?

It isn't a keyboard issue as the op is getting the ab code on the debug led.

When you removed the Vive, were you already in the BIOS?  Make sure it is disconnected prior to booting up, because the output will not automatically change if you remove it later.  Also, have you tried other output connections to your monitor(s)?
