My 1080Ti FTW3 fans are spinning 100% as I open Precision X 6.2.6. Also some overclock settings have been applied as the default profile, how do I reset the default profile? The fans could be related to that..

I believe this is related to the newest version. Go back to 6.2.3 to fix the issue. To reset all profiles to default goto C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC & delete all the files in the profiles folder.

I see. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. The updates to Precision X are looking quite good.

So is everyone experiencing this 100% fan thing with 6.2.6?

I certainly am, along with the GPU fan not spinning up after PXOC loads with aggressive fan profile.
    I went back to 6.2.3.

too bad that case cooling fans don't do the same thing  :-)   ( they stall out on low voltage )

This seems like a good control feature to have pumps and fans faster on start and fall back after the control system is operational.  I like the feedback on boot that they are working.

Does anybody know if this has been fixed in version 6.2.7?

Edit: Sorry I see in the release notes that it's been fixed.

It is indeed fixed in 6.2.7.
I noticed the fan speed that was occurring during start-up was related to the maximum speed set in the current fan curve.

at one time the EVGA CPU  flow control software used the manual slider speed set speed for a few seconds on startup tell auto took over.

Isn't by default the GPU fan only supposed to spin at low speed when idling? I've installed version 6.2.7, the software is not open and all 3 fans are spinning at 600 rpm (desktop)...

Depends on the model, vbios and temperature, but recent videocard generations have zero RPM modes where the fans don't spin if the temperature is below a certain threshold by default.

I got a response in the 1080 Ti forum section and that it's normal for all 3 fans to spin at around 600 rpm when using the slave Bios and when the PXOC software is not running. If using the master Bios just the GPU fan spins (software not running) and the other two kick in at a certain temperature. There is also a predefined fan curve that both the master and slave Bios will follow when the PXOC software is not running but I'm not sure what they look like.

Interesting, I did not think any of the fans spun upon startup under master bios until either heat or a fan curve profile kicked in from PXOC.
I know when I launch PXOC ( 6.2.7) all three fans show 0 rpm until my profile kicks in. However the GPU slider shows about half way when I first launch PXOC ( and shows 0 rpm) until fan profile kicks in.

Yeah the slave bios has an aggressive fan curve for better default cooling, because that vbios would be mainly used for overclocking purposes with even higher power draws.
The master bios should have 0RPM at a certain temperature for all the fans, but I don't know the thresholds as I can hardly properly look at the videocard from my position.

I just checked without Precision XOC running and none of the fans on the FTW3 are spinning.
My videocard is also rather cold on idle and the case is well ventilated, it is currently around 30-35°C with 23,6°C ambient.

Just like d.burnette says, all the fans should be able to spindown on master vbios.
