I will be building a new system in 2 months, and I want to replace my 23 inch samsung 2ms 1080p 60hz monitor...
Will be doing a 8700k, 16gbram,1080 hybrid, ssd etc.
I dont want to spend TOO much, mainly for PUBG, I am a bit colorblind(proto).  Some say IPS only...but im not sold on i for the price really...?
Desires:
1.  144hz or more
2. Gsync?
3. 5ms or so response
4. 27"
5.  I plan on playing in 1080p as i want to max my frames, though maybe 1440?(want to play native in pubg for sure either way)

Personally, I am waiting for the Predator X35 (or ASUS similar model) to release. It was delayed for release and was announced a while back at CES 2017.

However if you are looking at already released models, I have used the ASUS VG248QE, and I personally like it for the refresh rate, however it does not have GSYNC. I purchased this a couple years back, so there have been models released since then. I personally have a slight issue with the colors from this monitor as they are not very vibrant in my opinion, but its still a great 144hz monitor.

You can look at some BenQ's as well. Pretty much just look at reviews online and just do some shopping. You will find a monitor you like! :)

    Good luck!

Playing 1080p on a 1440p display looks pretty poor, so you need to make a decision on whether you really want to play in 1440p or 1080p. As for 144hz, unless you're playing older games or having top of the line hardware you won't be getting that framerate, so just forget about displays with higher than 144hz refresh rates. 27 inch display is for 1440p resolutions and higher. If you go lower than 1440p then go with a smaller screen it will look better due to dot pitch.

Gsync is a must. Basically the greatest thing to happen to PC gaming in decades. While gaming famerates varry, so you either get tearing, use software vsync which causes input latency and reduces framerates, or you get gsync and have no downsides other than having to spend the money for the hardware. It truly is a game changer and once you use it you won't ever want to go back to gaming without it.

IPS is mainly about viewing angle. If you don't squirm around while gaming then a non IPS panel won't be an issue.

    THANKS!
Exactly what I was looking for.  I sit straight in front of screen so view angle never an issue.
System will be gtx1080, 16 or 32gb ram, ssd nvram drive, i8700k so it will be a decent game...I play PUBG and the new mechwarrior soon(also CS etc).

Another vote for the Dell S2716DGR, had once since it launched and it's great. On sale for $399 at Best Buy right now: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-27-led-qhd-gsync-monitor-black/5293502.p

Check slickdeals.net periodically (or setup a deal alert) if you want to try to snag it cheaper, it occasionally drops to $350 and you can also find Dell outlet refubs for even cheaper.

with a dark desktop, look for light bleed at corners and edges

and of course evaluating color is important, though virtually impossible under florescent lighting and without calibration
