Both of my GTX 980 Ti no longer output anything on the Display Port(s).  The Display Port on my monitor still works with my laptop docking station.  I am able to use HDMI with either card, but not display port.  I did recently re-install Windows 10 and the latest graphics driver.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I prefer to use Display Port for my screen.  I only have a few months remaining on my warranty and would like to resolve this before then.  I only game a little with my computer (Witcher 3) and normally use the GPU power to stitch very large panoramas (1GP+) together using PTGui.

System configuration:
Gigabyte X299-UD4 motherboard
Intel i9-7900X CPU
128GB DDR4 RDIMM
2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti ACX 2.0+ (06G-P4-4991-KR) in SLI
Intel 600 series 512GB m.2 SSD
Samsung S32D850T 32" 2k screen
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 Power Supply (120-G2-1000-XR)

a lot out there on this issue  if you google it

hard to say all you can do is try things like new cable  or driver  maybe a win -10 thing is some crazy way ? [kinda old and may not be relevant ]
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2601033/display-port-working-updating.html

thing is ports faliling or not working was a thing with 900 series    seems like gigabyte cards suffered the worse over all  . you should be able to google something like display port not working  980 ti / 970/ ect....  and see .

best to google up  whats close to your issue and see what done for a fix   ,  but don't let your rma time run out  as a last ditch effort to resolve .  try another computer  [buddy ? ]   maybe with 7 on it to see if the same if so maybe the card for sure then .

also  I now recall like BENQ  had issues as well  with this  seems like I have see  2 or 3 like post where benq sent a new replacement monitor and all then was good  [seems there was 2 just here at evga on that  alone ]

    https://forums.evga.com/980-Ti-Display-Port-Issue-m2350515.aspx

google display port not working gtx 980 ti and start reading up  try any fix  up till you got to try to rma the card  and hope for the best after that [plenty on it ]

if not may need to go with a dvi-I to display port / hdmi cable  to just bypass  using display port off the card ?

you see a lot of this when using multi monitor set ups as well ?

I did find interesting  that when no driver was used  / safe mode  the guy said it worked  but installing the NVidia driver it then failed ?   so did you update the driver and run in to this issue ?

Thanks Dr.Death, I have tried two new cables, two secondary machines (x58 based and x99 based), different monitor with display port and Win7.  In fact, there is not any output on the display port from either card even trying to enter the F2/DEL setup screen.  The HDMI ports do work, but I share my monitor between my home computer and laptop when I work from home and I do not want to keep swapping the HDMI cables from one system to the other.

    RMA time.
900 series is notorious for DP ports going out.

ya, its funny that a lot of this was guys using a multi monitor set up  pr on your case maybe sharing as well  ??

then thing is if you were to rma the cards  what guarantee  the same set up puts you right back in to the spot your in now  ?

like I said  best to google that around  of like issues  see what said and any resolves   try them  and see  then don't let your rma time run out  as last ditch .

may RMA and evga don't have a 900 series to send back and may go next best in a 10 series if tthey support all your needs with there short comings / lack of support the 900 and older series has  but the 10 series  do not    ?    may also look around to see if the 10 series suffers this issue  if not looking as bad  maybe your best bet to work something out with evga support on that rma deal with the 980 ti's .

I looked some more  like here you see  can be anything   I seen it being from the monitor used  ,cables  ,card  , driver , ect.....   just nothing to put a finger on just one thing

whay I see it now a days this newer hardware  is all about gimmicks and hype  over service and support  .    why I said above ''if a 10 series supports all your needs ''    they sure don't mine  and costs as much or more , go figure ?

He already did all cable swapping, card swapping, machine swapping, different OS.
The DP ports dont work at all.
    Its RMA time.

I went ahead and started the RMA process.  I made sure to check the box for SLI and in my description of my problem I listed my hardware specs (including SLI), so hopefully they will not miss it.  I did also file a RMA for each card to make sure.

Yeah, I would even call them to make sure they know.
Give them your requrst number, email, and make sure they know its sli.
Too many people have checked the box and didnt get sli back.

Both cards are being replaced with a 1070 Ti (08G-P4-5671-KR).  Is the HB bridge worth the $40?

Which bridge are you currently running?

I am currently using a flexible bridge.  I was using a EVGA Pro bridge on my previous motherboard, but it did not fit with the spacing of the new board.  I also have the rigid bridges that came with my board, just have to track them down.

My two replacement 1070 Ti's arrived yesterday.  I was pleased to see they were new sealed in the box, not repackaged.  They seem to run as well (if not better) than the 980 Ti's.  The Wither 3 seems to play well and PTGui stitches the large panoramic photos just as fast as the 980 Ti's did.  In all, I am happy with the upgrade...Just wish the warranty did not expire by July (original card warranty expiration).
