Rolled way back to BIOS 1.04 and testing games again, if it happens in 1.04 then do you blame it on power supply? Will reinstall Windows 10 before I blame my 850W SuperNOVA.
Edit: It is not the BIOS
Edit2: Was not Windows, happened in 20 mins of Battlefront 2 with fresh install, just ordered a 650W gold from Newegg, gotta wait until Monday to see if that was problem.
Edit3: New 650W G3 swapped in, temps are 2c lower than usual, maybe ambient, but did crash still on prime95 this time about 1 minute in, No OC just Memory on profile 1. Testing games now.
Edit4: Happened again, crashed in games but this time I took out my EVGA CLC 280 and put my Corsair 100i in. I think CLC280 was making my motherboard say wrong temps, could've overheated my poor 6700k multiple times! (wrong)
Edit5: Instant crash prime95, time to continue with motherboard RMA, its been good for 2 years.
Edit6: Overclocking to 4.4 GHZ no longer crashes on Prime95, what could be causing my pc to crash with no OC?? Looks like I am ok if I OC for now.
Edit7: Still crashes after a while in game with OC, something is messed up with temps but two different AIO coolers seem to be working right, temps reported in program are different than on board.
Last Edit: 2 days of no crash gaming, the things I have done is flip the BIOS switch on my motherboard and updated it, swapped in a new EVGA power supply, and also reinstalled LAN drivers. My computer all of a sudden gave up on crashing, I am running no overclocks right now and plan to stay that way until 9th gen Intel.
Wiped drives and reinstalled windows 10 temps are down in 3dmark on cpu, good sign so far. 1h30m install on battlefront 2.
More info on my prob: My 1080 Ti FE Hybrid kit setup has been a mess in the last year. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Conclusion is I ruined the fan controller on the GPU, right now gigabyte is fixing it and I will sell it. I have also abused the DDU uninstaller a bit too much, problems early year so I think a new windows is the trick. Recently I have been playing Battlefront 2, amazing fps on my Amp! Extreme, then cpu crashes and get the LED lightup near cpu. Hopefully I can settle this here and now and no more posts.
Found this online: When a PC instantly reboots/BSOD's when starting Prime95 a few things come to mind.
Most common is high temperatures, the others are a PSU fault, an unstable overclock,
the least common are a faulty motherboard and / or CPU.
I insta BSOD on prime95, my new PSU here on Monday, will report back then.
