GTX 780 ti RMA Question

Hi all,
 
This is a RMA'd card that no longer works. When I requested a RMA for this card it was declined because the warranty carried over from the original card. Fair enough.
However, when I check the serial number, as a guest, it says 664 days left on the warranty.

If I sell this card for parts, can the new owner then request a RMA?

    Sounds like you bought extended warranty on the original card. If you have 664 days left you should be able to rma the card. Extended warranties do not transfer to second hand users.

    That's strange because I didn't buy an extended warranty. When I logged in and applied for the RMA it was declined.
    Now I'm worried that I sell a card that 'could be' RMA'd.

    Hmm. Well if you didn't buy an extended warranty then the system must have told you the incorrect number of days left remaining on your warranty.

    I think I understand now. The system automatically see's the card as being shipped as new in mid 2017. Hence the full warranty. But because of the history of the purchase, the original warranty is carried on from the original card.
