It's been a little while since this has been discussed on the forum and I believe new products have been released.

I'm looking for recommendations on a mouse.  I have 2 EVGA Carbon X-10s.  One is an RMA.  I've had the other for 15 months and the main button intermittently registers multiple clicks, when I press it once.  Maybe that's a nice rapid fire feature for gaming, but not so great elsewhere.  At this point, I've given up on these mice.

What are your recommendations for a reliable mouse, useful for both gaming and general clicking.  I do like LEDs, FWIW.

2nd.  I've been thinking about getting a good gaming keyboard.  I want one where I can assign LED colors to individual keys.  My other requirement is one that is also relatively ergonomic for typing documents.  There are a few different ones out there, but I'd love to hear from someone who has experience using it.

My thanks and appreciation in advance.

I own a Razer Blackwidow Chroma and also the DeathAdder Elite Chroma and they fulfill all of the criteria you listed.
It is purely a subjective opinion whether Razer is up your alley, but I've always favored their keyboards and mice.

I use a Logitech G502 mouse, and a Ducky Shine 6 keyboard with Cherry Brown switches. Keyboards, though, are highly subjective; you may, for example, prefer different keys, or layouts if you don't use a 10 key for example.

Watch these two videos below to help you decide on a mouse. Me personally, i like mice made by Logitech, they seem to last a long time for me. If for some reason the mouse messes up, Logitech will cover shipping both ways.

I really like my EVGA Torq X5. I got it for $27 on sale on Amazon - it frequently gets price drops. It's got one of the best sensors (Pixart 3988) and feels solid for the price. It is a very light mouse though, at 85g and I've grown to prefer light mice because of it. If I were spending more, I'd go with Logitech.

"gaming" peripherals are absurdly priced with some incredibly frivolous features.

Been using a $15 coolermaster keyboard for years and it's held up far better than any previous high end gaming keyboard I've had. Same thing goes with mice. I currently use a Torq x10 and it's held up nicely except for the side buttons losing their pant.

My advice is don't believe the marketing. You can get very well made peripherals for cheap and if you want to get something else, because it was so cheap, there is no buyers remorse. Stay away from anything Razer. Their software is the simply awful, but required to use any of their hardware.

it's true you don't need a mechanical keyboard or spend over $100 on any keyboard to be competitive in online games. I had no problems at all being competitive using a cheap office keyboards like this one below.
Back in 2008 i paid more in shipping than that keyboard cost brand new from newegg.
