A small Amazon leak, (yep third Amazon leak this week) might point to release of the new title.

I hope they go back to basics.
 
I want a singular mission/set of missions for Splinter Cell. No more "betrayed by the organization" or "Rogue Agent" bullcrap. Just give me Sam Fischer out on a mission against some rebels in Africa/Middle East who are gearing up for a raid. And Sam has to complete his blackops mission without becoming known to the two countries who are fighting a proxy war in that area. 
 
No nuclear bomb headed to a major US City or some world is at stake plotline. Give me a visceral, realistic blackops mission that has a small, but personal scale to the story.

Loved the original version on the first Xbox, the amount of times I played that through trying different things every time.  Never really got into later games though, worth a play?

Yes and no. Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory are both great, IMO. With Double Agent, they tried to mix things up a bit and it was kind of hit or miss throughout the game, though mostly hit. Conviction felt like an action game. I was irritated through much of my playthrough. I only recall one mision towards the end truly feeling like a Splinter Cell game. I have had Blacklist since the game came out, but have yet to play it for various reasons. Not related to not having played it yet, but removing Michael Ironside as Sam's voice actor was  a dumb move, IMO. 

Hi octane stealth action featuring loot boxes and crafting. Dispatch enemies with extreme stealthy prejudice in order to obtain operator scraps to craft stealthier gear.
