My non-Gsync SC17 (part 758-41-2633-T1) had suddenly graphical artifacts / crashing / just-plain-not running 3D applications. Was gaming last night and, after a crash, I find that 3D applications (if they run at all) display strange artifacts. I've tried uninstalling GeForce drivers and reinstalling various versions, all without any change. Unit is only 1.5 months old. Anybody had this behavior and found a software issue? I suspect my GTX 1070 has gone bad.
Nothing seems amiss temperature wise and Windows 10 64-bit (2D interface) is fine, but games display artifacts immediately beyond start screens, various graphics benchmarks will not run and, while some EVGA OC Scanner X things will run, most display artifacts (though it does not "detect" them) and the "plasma" demo/benchmark just crashes.
Thoughts? BTW, I've never had issues with the whole Creators Update stuff that others have run into. (Avoided it thanks to tips.) Point is, all my windows updates are current, was running latest 390 GeForce driver and, after a hard crash out of No Man's Sky (which had never happened on this machine previously), upon reboot I have massive 3D graphics issues. I mostly suspect it's RMA time, but thought I might see if anyone's got suggestions or may have run into this type of issue with these machines...
[Edit: All of these issues happen regardless of whether I'm in Normal, SuperClock or any custom modes. I did have a healthy overclock going on the GPU at time of crash, but temps and such were just fine. (Also, I'm not convinced one can actually damage GPU hardware via things like PrecisionX Mobile -- I've had zillions of video cards and never burned up a single one.) Issues happen even if I underclock the GPU.]
Thanks,
Keith
