Can someone explain what I need to do to get a saved profile to begin at Windows start up? I have a FTW3 Hybrid and I would like the VRM fan to spin at Windows start up but it never does unless I actually open the Precision XOC program. I have a profile selected and I have Windows start up selected but it doesn't seem to work. Is this a bug or am I just not getting how this works?

I'm new to using XOC. I've always used Afterburner for many years without issue.

Can someone shed light on this for me please?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have the Windows Start up selected on the main interface.  I think that's what you said you did.  Then look in the settings interface.  Click the little gear icon in the lower right by the profiles.  You'll see where it says  "Start with OS".  Make sure you enable that and click "ok".

Boot into safe mode, and delete the profiles folder located in C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC.

I haven't had to do this, but I'm thinking you could load in safe mode and open PXOC, then disable it load on start up & reboot.

I am in the same boat all of a sudden. I have 4 different saved profiles in Precision XOC and no matter which one applies, when I restart everyone returns to default. It was my understanding, once you hit apply, it saves to the card and you shouldn't need to run XOC for clocks to stay adjusted. Even with it launching upon start up clocks all revert. I just installed Afterburner (never used it), but the same outcome.

Tested on:
Drivers 388.31, 390.77, 391.01
Precision XOC 6.1.4 and 6.2.3

Using a EVGA 1080 FTW DT, Windows 10 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.192)

Also, FWIW, I can no longer shut down or restart my computer with Precision XOC running (Computer just hangs and never shuts down / restarts). Computer will at least reboot with Afterburner running.

History:
The reboot / shutdown issues started a couple of months ago (just stopped monitoring unless I had to)
Loss of holding clocks on reboot/shut down started a few days ago (That is when i noticed)

Damn' You're having more issues compared to my settings issues...I guess there's no solution to the PXOC problem here on the forum, hopefully EVGA is already working on a fix.

Did you follow what I wrote in post #2?  Make sure that if "Start with OS" is already lit that you click it to turn it off, then click it again to enable it.  Then click "OK".  Also make sure you're running the profile you want to load at start up before doing any of this.

I'm not using PXOC so I can't verify this, but I think I recall a setting where you can put a check in a box to not use the current profile at start up.  Not sure on the wording.  I believe the setting is for when you're testing out an OC so if you lock up/crash and can't recover without a reboot, it won't load that high OC you were just testing with.

Also click on the gear Icon, on the first tab make sure start with OS is On

There is a place on the left upper Face of Precision, but also check the tab mentioned above

Everything that's needs to be checked are checked, especially starting with windows. PXOC always goes back to default settings next day, so I have to manually adjust the fan curves, the temperature GPM and turn off the awful looking OSD...Now as far as profile goes Idk if I'm doing that right? I don't really know how to assign or save a profile.

Try turning off "Start Up", then setup a profile with your clocks and fan curve settings.  Make sure you click "OK" after making any changes to anything.  Once that's done and your profile is saved to a slot, then click to enable "Start Up" again.

Got mine to stick finally by getting everything set up and ensuring that start with windows on the main HUD and in the settings (gear icon) were checked. Waited 10 seconds, manually closed out of Pre XOC. Opened it back up to ensure clocks were stick set, performed a soft restart (with XOC still open), windows will hang (for me at least), tell it to restart anyways (it will close XOC on it's own). Upon logging back in, everything is set accordingly. Now I can shutdown or whatever and the clocks stay. For the fun part, anytime I adjust my overclock, if I want it to stick, I must follow the restart procedure above. FWIW, still cant shut down windows with XOC running >.<

I thank you for trying to help a few of us with these issues.

For me this doesn't help one bit, Iv'e done that many times and it's the same bull**** result's. I'm starting to get a bit frustrated over this simple software that has common sense click functions and nothing, but the LED color theme works. I'm about to reinstall this Fkn' software and see if that does the trick and if it doesn't I will continue to manually set this crap.

If it wasn't for my 1080Ti Hybrid that needs this software in order to control the power fans to the radiator, pump and setting the color theme, I would have stood with Afterburner.

If you go the uninstall route, I would suggest also manually removing the EVGA PXOC folder after you uninstall the software and before reinstalling it.

Ok, I will do that using Revo Uninstaller.

Again I'm just so fkn' confused with this "profile saving" method!...I mean it just seems I'm doing everything correct, but I don't see how or where this "profile set" is being saved??...After setting my "profile" and all is checked I hit Ok, I look into the Profile tab I see nothing but blank boxes :

- 2D Profile (empty)
- 3D Profile (empty)
- (Hotkey 0 - 9) all blanked out
- I click Browse > EVGA folder > PXOC folder > Profile folder there's nothing in there to set Custom Profile???

Again what I don't understand is why everything else is goes back to default on every startup?? > Yet the EVGA Logo color theme that I set stay's Blue? shouldn't the LED go back to it's default color settings as well???

EVGA should make a video guide on setting this PXOC like a few companies do with their software on YouTube.

By the way I never OC my GPU's or even dare to, this is my first Hybrid GPU and all I want is the simple 3- fan curve functions and my led color set.

Set up your fan curve and click ok.  Set your clock speeds or leave default and click ok.  Then right click (if I recall) on a profile number (circled in red), then left click that number.  Now click Start Up.

Bare with me, I'm trying to explain this by memory...

Yes!!!....That did it!!!...I just went and (right clicked) on the first # and it turned Blue, then I rebooted my Rig and my settings is still there!!...

Glad I didn't uninstalled the software, I can't believe all this time it was a simple right click on a profile # ....

A PDF step by step guide is needed on this PXOC forum!....Let's see what happens within the week!

Bdary!! Thank!! You!!

Now if someone can figure out the shut down issue things would be gravy.

Now that you have the "settings" part of your issue's sorted out, have you tried uninstalling PXOC, rebooting, then manually removing all EVGA PXOC folders and then reinstall?  The hanging at shutdown sounds like possibly some corrupt file(s).  Might be worth a try if you haven't already...

Sorry for the super long delay, but I have removed both PXOC, rebooted, manually deleted the the folder and installed again with no success. Even tried some older versions. To be clear, when I shut down, windows says it’s waiting for PXOC in order to shut down. If I press shut down, eventually the machine shuts down (about 30 seconds after my screens go into power save). If I don’t press anything, it will stay there until the morning. If I manually close PXOC before shut down and wait about 1-2 minutes. The machine shuts down normally within about 10 seconds.
