Hi guys,
I don't speak English, so please ignore any grammatical errors here. Thank you.
I got the GTX 1070 FTW (08G-P4-6276-BR; NOT KR, can't find any info about serial number end with BR) from a friend last year, wasn't really paying any attention to the performance because my pc is 6 years old and the only thing that is relatively new is the GPU.
I started to play PUBG last month and notice I can barely play the game with out lowering the resolution to 720p. Later on I found out that some xbox setting actually caused issue, so i turned it off and saw a significant improvement over the past, i can now play under 1080p and have the graphic on high.
Good news did not last long, after few minutes in game, the FPS dropped drastically. I have to lower the graphic to gain some FPS.. Turns out it is the GPU overheating during the game; the temp went up to 93 C. I went all over the internet trying to find fix.
Here is what i did:
I reapplied thermal paste;
Updated bios also i applied thermal pad according to the manufacture's instruction; vbios version: 86.04.50.00.72
Kept fan speed to 100% at all time.
Used furmark to test after, GPU temp reached 96 C after everything. Seems even higher than before......basically nothing changed.
Then temp for my CPU did not even get to 65 C at all time.
This is the set up:
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (64)
CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz(3400 Mhz)
Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V PRO
Memory 16.00 GB ( 1333 MHz)
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8192MB)
I did not play any game today, only used furmark two hours before this screen shot, temp is still 89 C.
I am aware that it is a old computer but i believe GPU overheating is the main problem to the FPS drop.
I really don't know too much about computer so any help will be greatly appropriated.
Sincerely,
B
