Hi guys,
I'll try and be brief; I was on desktop when my screen froze briefly (like when the card says its stopped responding and recovered) then went back to normal. I think this happened twice in a 10 minute period so i restarted. Subsequently the screen was black, nothing on screen no bios no monitor powerup or anything. The fans on the card still spin and the only way i can get a display is to use the onboard graphics. The motherboard also does not detect anything being in the PCI Slot, ive tried different slots, upgrading bios, using DDU but can't get anything to even recognise that the card is present.

What are my options here? I was going to try a bios flash on the gpu but as gpuz cant even see the card would this work?

OS: Windows 10 64bit
Ram: 16GB
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX
GPU: EVGA 780 GTX SC

kind regards,

vivi

Could be the GPU or power to the GPU (PSU or cables/connections) ... chances are it's the GPU.  Do you have another another rig to pop your 780 SC into to to test it or another GPU to test in your rig?  What's your PSU & have you tested it?  Does your PSU have additional PCI-E 6- and 8- pin power connections to test?
