Being on top of that other brands box has raised my suspicions now.




 Is that a DIFFERENT brand keyboard and mouse pad in the image too. Razer keyboard and HyperX mouse pad. what does that mean now.
 
Do you think it's staged, that the OP did this all to promote AMD graphics cards on evga forums? Other than that how on earth do you guys think it's suspicious to have a competitors box laying around.
 
 
 
 
 




I think that the point is the RX480 is not a bad card to have and it seems odd someone would spend $650 on a video card upgrade to a video card that really only offers a slight advantage in speed. The RX480 is still a great card for most games giving a smooth performance for HD gaming. The 1070 of course is faster but the real question is it worth dropping over $650 to go from 60fps to 80fps? I would feel different if the 1070 wasn't marked up higher then it should be because of crypto miners.

so update:
 
they are going to send the card to the warehouse people to determine if/what caused the card to do what it did. I spoke to a manager on the phone, he did say heat would NOT cause that. I strongly strongly disagree but we shall see when the outcome is given to me.

Hey, unfortunately not.. No one has called me back. Ill give it until tomorrow end of business.
 
I forgot to mention that I had told the manager this thread existed too so. Im sure they will call me back but Ill give them until tomorrow.

Looks to me like that card was crammed up against a cooler/radiator and bent.  No pictures of the fan side to judge though.

they contacted me and said i had to pay for the repairs - nothing has been finalized yet i am going to call the manager back now to confirm.

so yeah basically i am going to pay X$ and i will get refunded whatever the balance is. has not been confirmed however i believe it will work out... so at least i get some money back.
