Just call tech support and let them know about this thread, and that you ticked the sli box.
They 'should' cover the shipping of ALL the video cards, back to them, and back to you.
They 'should' also cover the sli option, and give you 2 1070 cards back, or just 1 of the 970 (if they have any in stock), to get you back to sli.
EVGA has not been very good to me with my titan x issues, but they have always 'tried' to get me a working card. I see no reason that they wont for you also.
I have never read anything about anyone having a bad experience with them shipping cards back to people.
Just call tech support.


Seems like a lot of hassle, but I'll keep the 2 1070's (I'm with sli again now) which I just got yesterday and sell the 1060 (should be here Monday).
Still keeping the 970 as a backup.

if they are willing to replace both i would definitely tell them to double check their records. you could sell both 1060s and recoup most of what your 1070s cost you.

so evga is going to work it out and send you  some 1070's for your 970's or did you get the too bad so sad  spiel ?      whats your end result on satisfaction from evga  on this ?

where now kick yourself in the butt, and should of got a 1070 because of sli.....

I went and bought 2 1070's separate from the 1060 that evga sent me to replace the 970 that stopped working.
I have a 1060 sitting in it's box right now I got from evga a couple days ago. 
I was considering selling the 1060 and keeping the other [old] 970 if anything happens to the 2 1070's

I didn't bother talking to them because it seemed like either way I would dish out more to send the one 1060 back to get a 970 if they actually had one.
To recoup maybe I could sell the 1060?

So now here is where I'm at lol I'm happy with the 2 1070's that I got even before the 1060 arrived from evga.
The whole thing was that the button to tell them the 970 was in sli to get another 970 back was the problem so I believe they need their website fixed tbh...
So from now at this point if I need to click it for an rma I will take a screenshot because it seems like they think I never clicked it on the rma submission for the 970.
An issue that other users know about as well. Well well well.
