Is the I5-8400 compatible with the Z370 FTW motherboard? It's not on the compatibility list for that motherboard. Thank you.

    It will work fine. Either get a basic $120 or less one or wait until the B or H series boards come out probably in the next month or two. Usually you can fetch those cheaper models for $60-$70ish. The Z370 is the overclockable models, currently no B series or H series boards are out yet, which would probably be the best option to pair with an 8400.
