    On what Motherboard?
CSM initialization Error 79 means that some component you have connected to your PC is not supported by your UEFI BIOS in most cases.

List your hardware by Make and Model

Also use the DP Port on the I/O Panel on the back of your Motherboard.

Your 1080 ti you have may not like your DP Cable.

Did you connect your Video Cable to the Motherboards Video Port *(DP)
Looking for a number like this for your Memory (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)
Use Only One Ram Stick and put it in Slot 2 and leave the rest empty.
What are you using for a CPU Cooler?

Use the HDMI Port on the MB then
I take it the dual link is a DVI Port?
You need to setup your Computer with an OS & Graphics Drivers before you can setup your Monitor Settings and Usage.

I've swapped ram slots, made sure they're in 2 and 4.
GPU light and fan comes on, CPU cooler starts spinning

    Still can't use USB

Pull out all but the ram. If new error code is seen then you have made progress and should refer to mobo manual’s appendix for meaning of new error code. If no error code, add one device at a time. Add monitor last.

See this Post for how I set my Z370 up https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2784234
My Bios Settings are After Installing the Base OS & without the GTX 1080 Ti Installed.
You would keep the Settings here to Auto to use the GPU on the MB

The Bios Switch can also be stuck in the Middle so you can move the Bios Switch back and forth and set it to one side or the other.

I do my first boot on a new MB using only the build in graphics using a standard keyboard and add the video card later

try both positions on the MB bios switch

I have used a cell phone camera on slow motion to collect data on the BIOS codes and the beeps.

    CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 RAM model

So I spent the day building greeting the Fed-Ex, UPS and Amazon guys awaiting for all the parts to arrive for a new build.  After spending the afternoon assembling everything together, I finally got to try it out.

Error code 79.  Switched RAM in the around (2 to 4, then just one lone stick in #2).

Error code 53 with just one stick.

Searched the forums and found this thread.  Then realized I have the exact same RAM?  Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3000C15

    Other specs:
    i7 8700k CPU
    2×8gb DDR4 RAM 3000 mhz
    1070 sc
    Z370 FTW mobo

Is the RAM causing this error?

In my case, Error code 79 is caused by running a Win10 from SSD-B (CSM-off) over the BIOS setting for SSD-A's Win7 (CSM-on).
Did OP do a similar thing?

    EVGA H370 Stinger / i7 9700T / 16GB 2667 / 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD / UHD630 / abee 150W DC-ATX / abee acubic S10

I had this same problem with my new Z370 Classified K motherboard. Searched everywhere for a solution, ended up here. For me the solution was to push the "BIOS/CMOS reset" button. Problem solved. Everything works perfectly now.

Apparently these boards are being sent out with crap in the CMOS settings. A simple note to users to clear CMOS on first power up would probably  save a lot of people the headache I and others have had trying to get the system booted for the first time.
