Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with my graphics card bought now 3 years and two months ago. Indeed, there are 3 years and two months, I buy my graphics card which is a GTX 970 EVGA FTW 4GB. It worked perfectly until 9/02/2018. In the middle of Fortnite, my computer this cut. I thought a power failure, but in light of the lights still in my room, I immediately knew of a problem with my PC. Unable to turn it back on, I start unplugging all my ports to leave only power. Always impossible to turn it back on. I think that it may be rotten food, but it does not feel like burning, and I see a small LED light for 0.2s inside my PC. Subsequently, I remove my graphics card from my PC and test the ignition. There, my pc starts. I turn it off, re plug in my graphics card, re test the ignition and do not turn on anymore. I isolated the problem, the graphics card. I test on another computer that also worked very well, impossible to turn on once the graphics card installed. After my tests, I took my old graphics card that I have for 7/8 years, my GTX 660. Once installed, my pc starts perfectly, without any worries. I go on the site of EVGA to see if my graphics card is still under warranty and it is with stupor that I see that it has expired on 11/12/2017, there is not even two months ... . After a brief exchange with the CM EVGA France (very friendly), he made me understand that he could do nothing for me (which is understandable because it is no longer under warranty). Scheduled obsolescence or simple production problem? I do not know, no component seems burned to me. So I go from a 970 to a 660 and I'm in tears: '( During the 3 years she has perfectly fulfilled her role, it worked very well, it is a good brand, but I doubt to return, because just the guarantee passed it slammed between my fingers while I 660 that I have since 8 years does not have a single problem. I wanted to make my story. Good night.

Sorry to hear man. But that's just sadly how things go sometimes. I know eVGA has at times accepted RMA's slightly beyond that of the warranty period, but with the current GPU shortage, it's not surprising they weren't able to help. A bummer none the less. If worst comes to worst, you can always try baking your GPU in the oven at a last chance revival.

My EVGA 970 GTX FTW 4GB just smoked and went on fire yesterday. Looks like it's 4 months out of warranty.

Bad time to have a GPU failure. I might try and replace the burnt chips...

    Ouch.
That short out of warranty is just bad.
looks like the warranties are getting to be like car maintenence: If you dont do it before the schedule says to, then you risk it going out.
With video cards, if they say 3 year warranty, expect to buy a new card soon after the 3 years.
    :)
HDD and SSD are the same, not saying video cards are any different.
