I bought  a EVGA Supernova P2 850w a little over 1 year ago. In Nov 2016. A high pitch squealing sound started coming from the powersupply a few months into using it. It sounds like a fan bearing or something but DOES NOT sound like coil whine so I thought it was my case fan then I thought it was my SSD or Graphics card but its neither of those and its 100% my powersupply making these noises. Its not all the time its random and sporadic and lasts for about 20 seconds then stops and will reappear at a random time for another 20 seconds etc. ITs getting more frequent now. Anyone else with these problems? I contacted support to see if they will give me a replacement as it is annoying to listen to. ITs like a little mouse or little baby birds squealing and squeeking inside my case. But i know for sure I dont have any mice or birds inside my case and havent had them in my case for at least 2 years.

thats what i thought as well. is that something easily fixable myself or is it a warranty issue? also i didnt know i had to register my product when i bought it. I thought i only had to do that with graphics cards. Does that mean the product cant be coverd under warranty anymore??

It's not just you. I had an 850 P2 doing the exact same thing about a year and a half ago, which was about four or five months after I'd bought it. With the PC sitting idle, it would just randomly start whining for a few seconds at a time. The PSU was in a second PC that sat behind my main sitting position, so the noise would go straight to my ears when I was playing games on the main one.

Ended up replacing it with another 850 P2 from Amazon (the original came from Newegg), and it's never made the noise insofar as I've ever noticed. The original went into a PC that was for my nephews, but ended up going to my brother a few months later. None of them have ever complained about the noise, but I know for a fact that it still did it while my nephews had it.

Hope you can get it sorted via warranty. The PSU never showed any signs of instability, but OMG that noise was irritating.
