Hello Everyone,

Got a 1080ti SC a few months back and it's been working great! Just recently however I started to have issues with the computer booting to where I can see the "press delete for bios" screen, then all three monitors going black. Sometimes the LED on the card will flash and it will boot after 15 or so seconds, other times the computer will reboot itself and then boot normally, and the sometimes it gets stuck at the black screen and has to be hard booted.

8700k.
Z370F.
32GB Corsair DDR4.
EVGA 1080TI SC.
EVGA 850 T2.

I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers, as well as the latest BIOS from Asus.

Any help would be wonderful :)

P.S. I'm using a Startech.com DP cable on my main screen, and the second and third are using active DP adapters to DVI. I also read a few other forums and have already disabled fast boot (didn't work). I'm thinking it's either an Nvidia driver, or Asus Firmware bug.

Thanks!

Replace the startech dp cable with a vesa certified dp cable like this one. Connect your 2nd monitor to video card using the dvi output that is on the video card. Leave the 3rd monitor disconnected for now while you test out the two monitor config I just recommended. Let me know how that works.

I'll look into a new cable, but why did this just start happening? Everything was fine up till a few weeks ago.

Just to confirm this one will do the trick?

Not exactly sure. Non vesa certified dp cables have been know to cause all sorts of issues. Replacing the startech dp cable with a vesa certified one should help get rid of any issues the cable may be causing.

Which exact startech dp cable are you using?

    This one I think.

Looks like that cable is vesa certified already, so no need to buy another one.

Try running your monitors the way I mentioned and report back.

If running your monitors the way I suggested doesn't help the issue try resetting the bios to default settings to see where that gets ya.

I unhooked my 2nd and 3rd screen completely and got a "no keyboard error" but it booted right away.

I'm thinking it might be the 0607 firmware.

I'm thinking it might be the 0607 firmware.

Time to try some older bios versions then.

Well I didn't have time to rollback the bios yet, but oddly enough this is happening to my 10 or so year old Sony Vaio Laptop with integrated graphics. Guessing it's windows related on the laptop as I haven't ever done a bios update on that thing. Interesting!

Confirmed new cable didn't resolve it. Thinking it's a Windows bug now. Will try a different Bios this weekend if I have time.

Hey sorry I can't remember 100% but I believe it was related to either a windows update or motherboard firmware. Make sure you are up to date on both sides.
