    If you are running the latest insider preview Microsoft has broken SGX it built 17083.

    Hello,
    SGX is a feature built into your i5 8400 however, the motherboard must have the feature available in BIOS to enable the the software to use it which none of our motherboards support unfortunately.

    In purchase BIOS, UHD playback with PowerDVD 17 Ultra failed to play with an error around SGX
    I thought that PowerDVD is not compatible with SGX's SoftwareControl, but I emailed this problem to EVGA support
    Four days passed and a reply came.
    There is an attached file, it was a trial version BIOS file
    Update and see the UEFI, SGX items were added
    Like other companies' products
    enable
    disable
    Software Control
    It was three items
    I set it to enable and I got all OK when I started AdovisorTool of PowerDVD
    Thank you

    Tomokudo, I read the email exchange between you and our support but did not see a mention of a trial version of our BIOS for your motherboard. You received a BIOS with support for SGX?

    Well the official release of the SGX-forced-on-available BIOS is still not appeared.
    If I purchased it I should e-mail the EVGA support for the trial BIOS either then.

    So any formal BIOS for it?
    I saw nothing updated on EVGA Download Center.

    It is not an official BIOS It is a trial version provided from EVGA support, it is not published on the homepage

    I'll check with our motherboard team on this.  SGX should be available as a "software support" feature, meaning that SGX is enabled if the software supports it, but disabled if the software doesn't support it.

    There shouldn't have been a BIOS version requirement for this.  And yes, 0.00 was the shipped BIOS for the first batch of motherboards.

    @tomokudo
    If your trial BIOS from EVGA support team works well then EVGA support team can release it as a formal BIOS for public download (even in beta).

    @EVGA support team
    As tomokudo said, PowerDVD is unable to auto-enable the SGX when it's in Software Controlled mode. (I don't know whether it's the default mode for motherboards which don't have the SGX settings in BIOS or not. But if it is, then we need the manual setting of it.)
    So our users who want 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Disc playback need the BIOS setting to manually turn on the SGX because SGX is one of the minimum requirement for the playback.
    Many thanks for the follow-up.

    No worries.  Our updated BIOS with the new Intel Microcode will contain user configurable options for SGX.  It will remain in Software-Controlled as default, but users can change it to Enabled by going into the BIOS, the CPU Configuration menu, and choosing Enabled.  The BIOS is expected for release within 1-2 weeks.

    Thanks for the update LeeM!
    I've been following this thread closely, as I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a new build, but I wanted it UHD Bluray compatible. This so far is the only full sized z370 board with that ability (once the new bios drops) to be available. I'll definitely be picking up this board once the new bios with the SGX features configurable drops :):):):) 2018 is definitely the year for tech upgrades for me.
    4k TV, 4k media player (XB1X so I can watch UHD BR's on that too). 4k monitor, new UHD Bluray compatible PC........ I haven't done a PC build since ivy Bridge, been kind of jonesing to wrench on something.... :):):):):):)
