I feel like I've done everything I could do to fix this problem besides except that my card is dead... But I refuse to believe that when the fan on the GPU is running even without the 6 pin connector pluged in???  When I run the most recent driver update from Nvidia it says it cant find any hardware specific to the (390.65) driver I just downloaded. I've run DDU and uninstalled all past drivers from Nvidia so I know its the only one on my PC. In GPU-Z the only option to select for Graphics cards is "Intel HD Graphics 4000"  I think my Mobo's PCIE 3.0 lanes are turned off or something cause in registry editor all that comes up under video is my Mobo's GPU the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000... there is one more under video but when I hit the drop down arrow only "0000" shows up then I click that and the only thing that pops up on the right is Default & PSCompatible. If anyone knows any thing else that could possibly help fix my problem It would be greatly appreciated Thanks for your time!!!!

Turn off and unplug your PC, then clear CMOS as described in your mobo manual using the jumper..Your mobo should auto-detect a graphics card when one is installed, and auto-switch to using it.

Try the card in the other PCIe x16 slot.

Try the card in another PC or take it to a PC repair shop for testing to see if it's good/bad.

If the card is bad, it may still be under warranty and you could RMA it.

Hi and welcome to the forums...

On some motherboards, you need to disable on the onboard graphics in the BIOS to make your discrete GPU (660 SC) work.  Give that a try and see how it goes.

If I disable the the on board GPU wont that lead to not having any display output? Also I have tested the second PCIE X16 slot and still had no luck...

Disabling the onboard graphics may allow your 660 GPU to work.  I assume you have your monitor plugged into the 660 and not the onboard graphics?

Both actually On board GPU is in HDMI 1 and the 660 is on HDMI 2

You will still need to disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS to rule out whether this is the issue or if it's something else.

If after you disable the onboard graphics and the 660 still doesn't work, and you did everything bob16314 described in post #2 above, you may want to check into RMA'ing the GPU if it's still under any warranty.

Ok I went to my bios and I saw that it was already set to boot from the PCIE X16 not the on board GPU and not sure how that is possible since it always boots to the Mobos GPU? I have a cMos button on the back end of my case where the Mobo connections are so Im pretty sure I can hit that instead of jumping the pin directly on the board but yeah Im gonna try that next Thank you!

Yeah, those cards all (I think) have a KB or KR suffix in the part number which is a 3 year warranty..If all else fails, you can disassemble the card and bake only the PCB like this and hope for the best..Solder may have cracked somewhere on the PCB and baking should reflow it if that's the problem..Solder cracking wasn't uncommon for cards of that era..If you bake it, do it with the GPU side up, not down..Good luck.

(sorry for my english or bad ideas on uefi/bios/gop)

I have a similar issue on the same card (gtx 660 SC)
    Current BIOS : 80.06.58.00.60
    P/N :  02G-P4-2662-KR

On win 10 the card is not recognized by motherboard if I force UEFI boot mode from bios (as the motherboard suggest to do for windows 8 - 8.1 - 10)...
i say the card is not recognized because the diagnostic led "VGA" on the motherboard is on and means that (chipset C236A -> similar to H170)...
only if i leave uefi+legacy (suggested only for win7 installation) the sistem boot,
-> (but it boot in uefi mode as windows system info shows),
but gpu-z says vga firmware is not uefi...
I can see the card in bios, before windows loading...

recently from "creators update" i have some problem with windows updates (ramdom boot failures) so i think/(totally want) this uefi firmware, erase everything and reinstall OS...I cant find it on techpowerup database neither on EVGA 660 sc page,
    where I can find it?
edit:  (solved by support 1 hour later, many thanks to Jan Wyroda)

Sorry for such a late update on this post problem but I got it going, it immediately loaded the latest driver update and recognized my  EVGA GTX 660 OC Edition on the PCIE slot 1 when I cleared the CMos on my  ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 mobo. Now the reason I didn't get this fixed sooner is because I was for certain I already cleared the CMos before I even tried to update and re bios the Z77 so not sure why it didn't reboot with it cleared but it works now... Finally! Thanks for all the help!!!

With my GTX 660 Ti I have to set CSM Enabled and Video to Legacy Mode.
My GTX 660 Ti has no UEFI Bios Support is why.
Somewhere on the Forum is a Link or info about a UEFI Bios but once done you cannot go back.
