I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW and just now installed Precision XOC. Though EVERY time I attempt to open the software, it instantly crashes once it loads. I have been at this for over 3 hours; iv'e uninstalled and reinstalled countless times, iv'e tried re-installing the GPU's drivers, iv'e tried using many old versions of the software, AND iv'e tried both the steam version and the standalone version, after all this time, not a SINGLE thing will work, i'm still at square one. Does anyone have a solution to this issue? CLEARLY its been an issue for ages, so I don't know why it hasn't been fixed, but i'm seriously starting to get very angry at this point. So if anyone has a solution that works, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

After you uninstalled PXOC and restart, did you delete the leftover .cfg files and EVGA folder in the Program Files (x86) folder that remain before you install PXOC again?

Unless the .cfg files are located somewhere outside the EVGA folder in the Program Files (x86) folder, then yes I deleted them all, as I made sure to do a clean sweep of the EVGA folder each time.

That's where the only .cfg files are, so you deleted them..The .cfg files are EVGAPrecision, precisionxserver and one that begins with VEN_10DE&DEV.

Any error codes popping up, or does PXOC just stops working?..Antivirus set to allow an exception for PXOC or temporarily disabling it allow PXOC to work?..There may be something in Windows Event Viewer that might hint to an issue..You can try running dxwebsetup and also repairing vcredist_x64 and vcredist_x86 in the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC\Redist folder.

Just a few more ideas here..What Windows OS you running anyway?

The only thing that pops up upon the PXOC crashing is the standard "Precision XOC has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to the problem." message. But as for your 2nd idea regarding my anti virus allowing an exception for PXOC, it seems like PXOC wasn't on the list of allowed programs in windows firewall, so I will restart my computer now to see if that fixes it. As for the other ones, I haven't tried those, but if this doesn't work I will try them and let you know if they do. And i'm running Windows 7 btw, it is a trial version as this is a new PC build and I didn't have a code, so i'm just waiting to get one. I don't know if that could be another potential issue or not.

After enabling 'Start With OS' in the General Settings (gear button, bottom-right) and clicking OK and closing Settings, close Precision so the setting sticks and that should probably take care of the auto startup issue when you start/restart your PC..Precision needs to be manually closed for some settings, including Start With OS, to stick and it's been a problem for a while now.

If you continue to have problems, you should start your own thread and describe in more detail what's happening with it.

2018 on Windows 10 and still have this same issue.
I've tried older versions, new versions, running in compatibility mode. Clean installs, installs, OS reinstalls...
    Nothing.... works.
Meanwhile I forget it crashes mid game, my pc shuts off from overheating since my Nvidia 980 refuses to use it's fans until AFTER the PC is cooked. (The fan saving feature that destroys your PC)
I'm already looking to upgrade to a 2080. But I will NOT... EVER.. buy EVGA again.

Define "cooked". What is the GPU core temperature when it is "cooking"?

The card should not need a custom fan setting to work properly. If it doesn't work properly with just the driver using the card's VBIOS fan control, you should RMA it.

In win 10, if you have anything other than "not assigned" for both the 2d profile and 3d profile settings (click the wheel, then the profile tab) it will crash 100% of the time, every time. Not always right away, either! :)

So ee11vv22gg33aa44 seems to be right about the 2d/3d profile bug, I see the same issue. Havent tested it too many times, but I was consistently seeing it crash when first started on login or by manually starting it. Now, by having "not assigned" it has started (without a first crash) 5 times straight.

An odd finding this week for me was going from Driver 390.65 to 391.35 and then to 399.24
I had to remove PXOC and never had this Issue before and this was on version 6.2.7.
I did not have to Remove PXOC before this, I started to get WinRing0 Errors.
So now between Each Driver Update I uninstall LED Sync and then Precision XOC.
Delete the Folder C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA and the File from the Windows Folder PrecisionX_x64.INI
Then Delete the Entries in the Registry "Precision X" and "LED Sync" and last "WinRing0" if any are still in the Registry that is.
At this point I disconnect the computer from the Network cable or Wireless Device gets turned off or unplugged.
The use Add and Remove Programs and uninstall the PhysX Driver and then the Graphics Drivers but I do not restart and the end only Close
Then I run DDU and tell it to run in Safe Mode and this then restarts the computer into safe more and then run DDU to clean up but do not Exit from DDU once completed I click on set Windows back to the default for driver updates then exit DDU and restart the PC.
After the PC Comes up I then install only the Graphics Driver and PhysX Driver (This is on a NON-RTX Graphics Card) complete the install using the Clean Install and then after it complete restart the PC.
After the PC comes up I then go into Device Manager and go the Monitor settings and click on the Plug and Play Monitor and the update to the correct Monitor that is connect to the Graphics Card. (This is why I set the Windows Driver update back to the Default setting in DDU)
Once the Monitor is updated in Device Manager I exit and then go into the NVIDIA Control Panel and set what Settings I use for my Defaults.
Once this is completed I then restart the computer and then at this time I reinstall PXOC.

Not saying this is what you have to do but what I do.

They are in the Profile tab of Precision XOC, not Windows..Click the little gear button at the bottom-right of Precision XOC.

Set them to 'Not assigned' if they are not..Then click OK..Then close and open Precision XOC again and see that they remain set to 'Not assigned'.

    Bob,

Thanks for the feedback, sir. I can't even get that far into XOC. I can load it and it will immediately "be minimized" in my tray. When I try to open XOC from the tray - It pops up for all of about 2 to 3 seconds then crashes with no error window.

    Thanks again,

Open the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC\Profiles folder and delete all the .cfg files so that Precision will be returned to default settings (Profiles not assigned)..Then try it again.
