So I have something happening that I have never seen before. I got my Titan X sli back up and running and I am really Happy with it now that it's back. My problem is when I normally on my Old Titan Xm cards If I maxed the slider out for voltage and as I bump up clocks the voltage would eventually hit 1.243 the max operating voltage for stock bios. My specific problem is that one card wont go above 1.224 and the other wont go past 1.218. So both show up under HWmonitor64 as not hitting there Max operating voltage. My last cards would always end up hitting 1.243. All I am trying to do is level off my overclock with a bit more stability but it would go higher in the voltage. Does anyone have an idea why it would max the voltage. An yes I have pushed the clocks up as high as it would go before crashing to try to get it to use more voltage. Got one card to 1530mhz in heaven benchmark before it would crash. Now I get 1480mhz core and 8002mhz Mem in sli pretty stable for all games and I know that is pretty good but I would like to see if I can get it stable in the few things that are crashing but bumping it up more. Power limit is also not the issue I have the limit in the bios increased. So no power limit problems. Thanks in advance.

GPU Boost must think the cards don't need more voltage, so it isn't letting them go any higher.

well when I take it out of sli one card will will only hit 1.224 and the other will go to 1.243. the one that goes to 1.243 is the one that need less voltage per clock then the 1.224. So my better card will hit 1.243 but the lesser card will not go above 1.224. This is stumping me. I mean I can bump it up to 1580 and it still wont go to 1.243 even though it crash is about immediate. That's just silly if it wont bump voltage up. I have tried everything I know to get it to go up and it just wont. I know voltage mods currently are just crashing in windows but is there a way to maybe get the voltage table to force the card to just do the max 1.243 voltage? Thanks

SLI off, the GPU would have a increased load - might be why more voltage is drawn

Re: Titan X Maxwell Voltage Question 2017/12/29 15:29:13 (permalink)
Yes each of the pcie power connectors on the cards are running off there own plug on the psu. So 4 pcie ports on the the psu are being used. 2 for the 6pin and 2 for the 8pin. Also both cards have been fully loaded no there own and that's when I determine that one would push to 1.243 and the other refuses to break 1.224. So my biggest issue is that the main flu in sli is the card that won't break 1.224 so the other card won't break 1.218 while in sli. I guess it's trying to match voltage per clock and the 1.218 card is the better card in my testing with sli off. So it always needs less voltage per clock. But I know the cards can do better I just can't get it to do better because it won't go to full voltage.

Only way to force voltage is by modding the vbios.

Well the voltage mod territory it looks like some people are finding ways of fixing the driver problem stopping the cards from running modded voltage. It is not there yet but maybe soon. But I did find a strange way to make my voltage on my good card to go to it's 1.243 while the other card is still stuck at 1.224. I un-linked the cards in Evga and made the 2nd gpu (the good card) 10mhz slower and it makes it run at 1.243v. So while all the other setting are the exact same all it did was make the primary GPU for sli +110mhz and the 2nd GPU +100mhz and that makes the 2nd gpu go from 1.218 to 1.243. I can't even begin to understand why but at least it's a bit better than 1.218. Now in sli the cards are stable in all the games I play. The Cards running with SLI off the 1.224v card can run at 1515 in firestrike every time and the 1.243 card can run at 1545 every time. In SLI I now get them to 1480 Rock Solid. Firestrike GPU score is (41540). So I feel at this point even if I got it to go up in voltage I would maybe go up another 500 ish points in firestrike and see almost no difference in games. Till we can voltage mod again I might be able to get sli at 1520 rock solid. So thanks for the help in trying to figure it out. I do appreciate your time.

I always run the better GPU as first card in the SLI

If I understand your post, your second card is the better card ?

I'm using older Nvidia drivers in Win 10 and more voltage than you with a Mod BIOS

Yes the better card is in the 2nd slot. Unfortunately I did not know what card was better till I got them hooked up. I run a custom water loop and is a pain in the butt to take apart to switch spots.
