Must be nice to have a fan on all the time problem. I would love to have that issue instead I have the fans never come on issue. Had to uninstall Precision X mobile. It was constantly over clocking and turning the fans off resulting in a mega overheat lockup. I was finally quick enough to be able to uninstall PMX before lockup. Now I can at least use the laptop to get on the internet. Someone at NVIDIA has to know there is an issue with not being able to control the fans manually on the 1070 gsync laptops. Why are we not allowed to at least turn the fans on? Step one fans on and then later on you all can work on the overclocking for those who want that.

Please EVGA release new version precision mobile software, where we can save our own fan curve, and after restarting laptop it's stay. Or one click apply, i'm tired to move all dots again.

It already does stay. Set custom profiles load the profile upon bootup done. Takes two clicks. Click profile click apply.

Hmm.  Doesn't do that for me.  Doesn't do that for most people.  I think that only works for some models.  For most of us, the custom fan curve is not remembered and you have to spend a minute adjusting the custom curve dots after each boot.  An EVGA tech person said sort of the same blanket statement as you just stated, in an old thread somewhere on this forum, was questioned about it, and then came back and said basically 'sorry, you are right'.

That's why I chose to mod the BIOS, enabled the custom fan curves in the BIOS settings, and now it is always the way I want it after each boot (and no software required).

On the left side where it says custom 1-5, have you tried clicking one to light it up, then with your current fan profile, did you right click on it after it’s lit up? That’s how I get it to save for me is the right click over the custom profile.

fetterEsel what version precision mobile do you use? I'm at 1.0.8 and all custom profile won't save fan curve.

I can confirm that my SC17 with GTX 1070, using Precision Mobile version 1.0.9, does not save the fan profile.  For this reason, I unlocked the BIOS and saved the fan profile in the BIOS.  Other users want to be able to do the same thing, for the same reason, without needing to unlock the BIOS themselves and risk things going badly.

My laptop shipped with version 1.0.8. Version 1.0.9 added the fan control feature for my laptop. I was not aware of the existence of version 1.0.11, but I see that it is a spectre BIOS compatibility update. Since I haven't updated to the spectre BIOS, I will stick with version 1.0.9.

Since I don't use Precision Mobile, it's really a moot point. If EVGA added features to their BIOS officially, others would stop using Precision Mobile as well.

Like I said, I don't use Precision Mobile, so there is no need for me to update it.  The changelog says that the version I had installed is the one which was supposed to fix the fan control.  I guess EVGA is clueless and therefore their changelog is useless.  Go figure.

EVGA has the worst software tech team honestly. Solid hardware, garbage software.

Ok I worked thru EVGA privacy policy (from the European Union lawmakers) and here is what you have to do you have to clear your browser cache on the browser I used (edge) then log back into the evga website. Now it will actually update your profile once you enter your password. Above your address at the top you should see update complete or similar. Now you can go and download Precision Mobile X 1.0.11 which will enable you to fan boost. Your welcome ; ) you have to put PXM at the end of the address.

Working with DarkLordGaseous over the phone to come to this resolution, I would like to suggest that user having issues with fans and overheating download the latest version of Precision X Mobile from this link: https://www.evga.com/pxm/
If you are unable to download the program, this may be due to the need of accepting the updated privacy policy and warranty terms in your Profile page. I would recommend the following steps:

Log out of your EVGA account >
In your web browser, Clear your cache and cookies. (link on how to do this) >
Login to your EVGA account >
If not taken to your profile page, go to the top and select "Member", and then "My Profile". (you will need to enter your password once more) >
Scroll to the bottom and ensure all three boxes are check marked, and click "Update Info". (see below)

The page should refresh and bring you back to the top of the page and state "UPDATE WAS COMPLETE". This can take up to 10 to 15 seconds to update.

Once done, you can then go to Precision X Mobile's download page and download the most up to date version.
