I have been trying to mine with claymore, and it always crashes.  I will then try to use ethminer genoil, and it hardly mines at all or crashes.

try nicehash miner, see if its stable. if not it could be an OC that isnt stable for mining or something worse, a defective card, drivers, or other software issue.

try turning down the core clock below stock speeds, if this fixes the issue it's definitely a hardware issue.

ETH is horrible for a Titan.  You should be doing Zcash, Mona coin, Vertcoin, anything but ETH.  Why do you people have your brains set on an algo that your card is so stupidly bad at?  Do the better coin, a coin that your card can do at almost TWICE that it can at ETH, and buy ETH with what you earn.  Seriously!

Work smarter, not harder, as Scrooge McDuck would say, and you're not working smarter.  You can buy twice the ETH with what you sell from what you mine with the right coin than mining ETH directly.

ETH is a very poor choice to mine on any NVidia card above the 1060.
There are many other options you can earn a LOT more with.

The only reason ETH is a reasonable choice for the 1060 is that the 1060 is in the same price ballpark or LESS than the competing AMD RX 470/480/570/580 cards and has a fairly close hashrate to those cards, AND it's earnings are fairly similar on ETH to most of the other algorithms a 1060 can mine well.
Those AMD cards have VERY close hashrate to the 1070 and 1070 ti, BEAT the 1080, and are fairly close to the 1080 ti but cost a LOT less than the 1070, not that "AMD price gouging due to excessive demand" has largely ended.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.
