Is version 1709 the latest version? Is this the version people are having problems with, like on restarts, driver problems, etc.? Does the build version stay the same on 1709, or will it update itself to another build?
 
Since the latest update I've had problems on start up, and I have a couple problems with my Creative sound drivers, even after reinstall.
I hope they get another update soon, and I hope it works out better. The last update before this one was great. No problems at all. Had fixed my YouTube search problem, but unfortunately the problem has come back after this latest update.      :(

Seems like they do a major update every year with two other updates to fix the things they broke just so they can break new things with a major update a few months later.

So once or twice a year we will have to reinstall a new ver of win10? That's crazy.
With all the GPU driver issues, I am really thinking of putting all my systems back to win7 or Mint Linux.
I waited a long time to go to 10 so they get the bugs out. But a new OS, even once a year is too much.
It makes no sense, just more work for people with several computers. Sorry I went to W10 on as many as I did.
 

But it is not always as easy as just running the Nvidia installer.
You have to rollback the driver and then use the MS program to hide the update and then pray the driver installs right.
MS should leave the drivers alone if they can't figure out how to install the whole package so it does not bork folding and BOINC

This version of Windows completely destroyed sound in my computer.
Now I use Onboard Sound and Sonic Studio to listen 5.1 until I back to previous version of Windows.
Many people complain because MS change something serious about sound.

It had messed with my Creative drivers. I managed to fix it by reinstalling, messing with the Windows, and Creative settings. Wasn't easy. Finagle this, and tweak that.       :(

I didn't had problems with 1703.
But if I reinstall Windows I will stay with 1503.

1709 causes an issue with Creative usb sound cards where if the sound card is plugged in/enabled when Windows starts, it will cause issues with the start menu not working. 
 

I must say there is very good chance that Sound Blaster ZxR and many other cards, people report even Xonar from ASUS or even onboard will not work normal with Windows 10 and that manufacturers will concetrate to advice people to buy new hardware launch after Windows 10 show up.
It's confirmed that something big is changed and old software not respond well.
This will influence even worse on market of dedicate sound cards.
My advice for all people who have money is to get rid of anything with software if they want nice sound.
You need Hi-Fi equipment, amplifiers, dac, and at least 2+1 speakers. Left-Right-Central.
 
This cards from ASUS and Creative are toys, and again they can't optimize to work well and charge them 200$.
Sound depend from driver can't be normal. For price of one high end GPU you can get NAD D3020 and one extremely quality central speakers. Few hundreds more investment and you have nice sound quality.
They had problems to sell PCI-E sound cards and before, now when customers figure out that one OS Update could kill your investment they will sell them even harder. 
Because of that Creative prepared AE-5, sound card with lower price, and they will advertise people switch from better hardware because optimization. ASUS is lost completely as well. People wait drivers months, half of year.
 
On Creative forum advice me to check some options and give me link to try something... Honestly, I take a look I saw mess, few pages of chaos and complains and I couldn'r read at all because I know that there is very small chance that something will change until serious driver change. They advice to disable High Precision Timer in BIOS. Such option I think not exist in my BIOS, maybe is possible through Windows cmd promt, but I will take a look these days. I doubt that will fix. Revert on previous Windows 10 basic is not solution, how much until we need to update because something, I don;'t need fix for next 3 months, I want fix for future. 
 
I think that people deserve official statement from Creative, ASUS, Microsoft if they can't fix problem people should know that. Sound is always important for me as graphic, as picture or monitor but I must say after Windows 10 sound from my sound card is useless, it's worse than low and motherboard onboard audio because channels mix and that;s like you tune volume and switch from stereo to 5.1 every minute or two. Only chance to aviod that is to remove all drivers from Creative and allow MS to install Creative Audio Controller and his drivers, than you have some sound on onboard audio from 250$ worth hardware.
