I have been thinking about adding a 2nd case fan for almost a year to the front of my computer as an intake fan. Thinking could it hurt to move more air in and keep all components happy and working well for many years.
Want to use an OEM 4 wire case fan (FOXCONN PV902512PSPF 0J) pulled from a decommissioned Lenovo H430.
If I did, I see a AUX1 (the mobo has 2 AUX fan headers) fan header on the motherboard. I got this info the IdeaCentre 710 Maintenance Manual. AUX1 Fan socket is number eleven below.

7. Aux2 fan header / 11. Aux1 fan header / 22. System fan header

The questions are:
Is it as simple as just plugging the fan in and pushing the rubber dampeners into the metal chassis... would I need to change anything within the BIOS?

If I did install it but later wanted to take the fan out would the BIOS be okay with the than missing AUX1 fan or would I need to change something to get back to where I am today with no fan installed on AUX1 fan.

I found looking at another 710-25ISH on Newegg that has a photo of just what I want to do.
Edit: This computer is of the same family but with i7-6700, OEM GTX 750 Ti, and SSD and I think the PSU is a 400w 80 Plus Silver. Edit2: I don't know if the BIOS is the same?

It's that easy to add a new fan, just make sure you have it pulling air into the case.

The way that fan is facing, it would be pushing air towards me. You don't have to change anything in the bios, if you remove the fan later on.  Long as the fan works after you plug it in, you should be fine without editing anything in the bios.

The BIOS is the fear of it, not knowing if it will accept a another case fan not installed at conception in the factory. That and it will sorta create a hard to clean spot collecting dust but I think it would be beneficial to push cool air to the 1050 Ti.

Thank you for your reply MSim.

If the mobo has a fan slot, the bios will accept a fan being plugged into it. You might have to enter the bios > System fans to adjust it to 100% speed.  Adding a fan to the front will add a new spot you will need to clean once in awhile.

You might be able to find a video of someone going through the bios for your prebuilt system on youtube.

Front intake fans are a must. It significantly impacts cooling like 10+ cooler temps. Make sure you have an opening so it can breath though. Plug any non LED fan into the mobo and you'll be fine. The fans with lights require a bit more power and thus might not work with some fan inputs on certain mobos.

Installed and working beautifully.

The hardest part was taking the rubber isolators out of one side of the fan housing and moving them to the other side without damaging them. Before putting the isolators back into the fan housing I washed and treated them with vinyl protectant also with damp cloth and small amount vinyl protectant wiped down the fan it self make like new again, that should make it a little easier to clean dust off later on.

Edit: The BIOS has no fan speed adjustment only indication of the three fan headers of being functional or not installed but hey I wouldn't want 100% anyhow my computer would sound like it was about to take to the sky.

fearpoint, the computer's face plate has slot for air to move through and the chassis has the necessary mounts for the fan... all is designed to have a fan placed there.
And hell yeah, I have observed lower temperatures.
