Am i the only one the sees a gpu cooler look on the lower fan and cover? Just needs some custom type cover for the center if your not using any other pcie slots.

Heatsink is from time when motherboards looked on something, not now.
After 5 years I saw one nice GIGABYTE motherboard... X299 C422-WS.
Before motherboards are far nicer than now.

For this motherboard worth to pay little higher price for some tested CPU from Silicon Lottery, delidded,
finished, proven stable on high clock and RIG for few years is finished.

Excellent, K|NGP|N made some records on X299 Dark motherboard and no one can't say...
"Performance of mine GPU are lower than on other X299 motherboard"... or similar things.

After looking at the pictures of the Dark and watching the GN video on the vrm heat sink (OK, I watched the video more then 2 times) I am thinking that an EKWB EK-Supremacy EVO - Full Copper would look great on it. Was originally looking at a full nickle but I think the copper will compliment the board. Have yet to decide if the stock black mounting plate would look best or get the metal nickle plated one

I don't know why people like RGB so much.
I had RVE and I found very good option to buy
Rampage V Edition 10 and EKWB RGB Monoblock from some mod who win award for 400 euro.
When I sell my RVE that would be same as I bought only Monoblock and upgrade on RVE10 is free.

But I must say that I liked more Rampage V Extreme. I didn't know that until now.
Probably is RGB guility and I will turn him off.
ASUS AURA software is not possible to uninstall. Can you imagine software after 2 years and 10-20 versions not react on uninstall.
You could delete him with Revo Uninstaller.

Only is good because I didn't expect nothing from RGB, that was only plus because I have RGB connector now If I want white LED strips in case. Color I turn on white constantly. I am so sad now looking my old RVE. I feel like I betray someone.
Because of that lack of RGB on X299 Dark is not flaw at all except for childish computers.
RGB controller cause windows to boot 10 seconds later, and 35 seconds become 45 seconds, on same hardware, same settings, only because mobo is more complicate than before RGB and other things.

But now I have USB3.1, their new protective I/O shield, memory results are 5-6% better on same settings, now I have CPU block and VRM block, board is black and most important her real look will become after I install Monoblock.
But RGB, I would feel same with 2 RGB fans.

This EVGA X299 Dark deserve and Monoblock.
That would be similar Monoblock as Crosshair VI Hero and Extreme.

Considering they haven't sent this to Kyle yet for a review... I wont hold my breath. I bought my 1300G2 SuperNova PSU cause of Kyle's review. Bought my Maximus VII Hero Asus Z97 mobo based on their reviews.. I refuse to buy anything that's generally not reviewed as extensively.

If they don't want to send Kyle one, I'll pass and move on to a company not afraid of scrutiny/getting there hardware put it through its paces.

Send Kyle one to review... Then I'll talk.

Manufacturers until 2010 build boards with heatsink who serve for purpose, not only look. Guy who show video clip and heatsink on CPU cooler is right, such type is best for temperatures and look best if you ask me.
I mean all manufacturers, GIGABYTE, MSI,...now is main purpose look and to hold some logo or light.
I am aware that RGB will never gone from motherboards, but easy that will become common option and no one will pay attention on that and less and less advertasing will be with colorfull motherboards. Look very bad, cheap, no any more look of quality hardware.
Better to build transparent heatsink to people see that manufacturer choose more expensive components.

Do you remember DFI, their heatsinks on high end motherboards as X58, MSI Big Bang, Rampage III Extreme... EVGA X58 Classified with big heatsink with fans covered with E logo. GIGABYTE EX58-UD5.... That was golden period of motherboards.

You mean HardOCP? But I think no one still get X299 Dark for review except this video clip.
But I saw their clips and he explain pretty nice and talk about details and components in motherboards and graphic cards.
Later and others will get motherboard. Half reviews will want this motherboard to keep for own build.

I sad i7-7820X is not so good choice... But to be honest with this board I would not complain and with i7-7820X.
PCH Gen 3 compensate less PCI-E lanes.
If someone want to change with me X299 Dark for RVE10 and Monoblock I'm ready.
Don't push me to force you... Hahaha Hahaaaa...

To be honest I don't ready any more reviews so much.
Only when something really like, several times some stupid reviews and their complains completely spoil me image of hardware.
I hate mostly when I try to find some reason to buy something and wait some nice recommendations and someone destroy that... Uhhhhh uhhhh...

Yes, you can disable every single LED , to make Dark worthy of it's name :)
Dark mode in BIOS UI disables auxilary LEDs, and multifunction 80Port display can be disabled in separate setting.

If you have question, please post in public forum. I do not reply PMs, so all in community can benefit the answer.

Not sure if I'm going to jump on to this chipset yet. I might hold off until PCIE 4.0 or until my X79 rigs die

Not sure if I'm going to jump on to this chipset yet. I might hold off until PCIE 4.0 or until my X79 rigs die

What will PCIe 4 improve in practice?  What components on direct lanes to CPU bottleneck on PCIe 3?

Edit: LOL - literally next link I read: www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3176-dual-titan-v-bandwidth-limit-test-x8-vs-x16  Are you planning dual Titan V? :)
