Mine should be here today, i needed a replacement for my 7 year old WD 1TB Black that started having errors.

    I have the x300 5tb it does have quite the loud search noise kinda like an old hard drive but the price and speed are good

    The only time i could hear my WD Black 1TB was when it powered up, i could never hear it search.

    I have the 4TB Toshiba as my D drive.  Pretty quiet.  I have a full tower case...so some of the noise inside never makes it out.  Fast drive, too!

    is yours a p300 or x300 mine sounds very similar to this when under load when it's just spinning it's quiet https://youtu.be/wlpyF8anf8A at around the 2 min mark

    information on my 7 year old WD Black 1TB. Had issues getting some files off the HDD, drive speed would hit zero while windows would show it was being used 100%.

    how was the noise on yours under the bench mark? Was it similar to the video I linked or did you wind the Toshiba sound lottery?

    I can hear the drive a little bit while the benchmark is running. It's not loud to me. I'm use to hearing HDD's working.
