Hi,

After some good service I'm looking for a new 24" (maybe more) 120/144hz min for gaming and movie (actually I have a Acer 24" GD245HQABID 120hz who is still very nice for gaming but I'm tired of the quality for movie)

I know TN have made progress for movie since the one I have. or maybe looking for IPS...I don't really know.

I tried to find something by myself directly on some online store but it's a jungle :/

I don't want to put more than 500€.

btw anyone know/have good for a good recommendation monitor review website? The only serious we had in France is dead :/

Thanks !

The monitors below offer 21:9 aspect ratio perfect for widescreen movies especially if you want no black bars cropping the image with in a standard 16:9 aspect ratio monitor.
Depending on budget these are the best available and well worth considering spending more. Keep in mind it will be around for a lot longer than most of us keep our rigs.

I got a PG258Q for gaming. Great for fast gaming in FPS games. However, not as good for how it looks and not as immersive in single player games as my Acer x34. Right now I am using the PG258Q because I mainly game on my computer. The blur, lower refresh rate and extra lag on the X34 is very dissatisfying for me to use it. It really is a shame. I look forward to when they make a 27 inch at 240Hz, but we are going to need better graphics cards to push those frame rates. For movies and single player games? X34 has been great. If you ever like to play competitive FPS games? Get something faster or you will just be frustrated.

I also agree with the suggestion of 21:9 for movie viewing. Just wish there were a few reasonable 2160p 21:9 options out there. Right now 21:9 is mostly still just 1080p or 1440p.

+1 I should have mentioned it. It's my go to place when I want to calibrate my monitors. I use Spyder 5 Express to create my personalized ICC profile but get best results when using TFT Central's presets for specific monitors. Invaluable resource!

I use my Spyder 4 with DisplayCAL software. DisplayCAL is better than the default Spyder software.

I'll have to give that a try. TY! I think... I've seen reports of spyder 5 not being detected by DisplayCAL
    edit:
I found this toot maybe it will help.

Yeah, it works. It is better software for sure. It provides a more consistent and better calibration. Spyder would give me different results every time I would run it.

I would have to wonder how bad the movie watching is to make you want to upgrade if the gaming you feel is good. I normally upgrade for gaming and would be waiting for 4K to really take off on streaming outside of Netflix. Of course I have my TV that I do most of my movie watching on.
