bcavnaugh I would say for the most part no real difference, maybe even lower now. Maybe Here: GTX 1060 3GB PPD? Others Low PPD estimate GTX 1060
Hence why I asked about current PPD since the threads are around a year old. Really want to know the PPD on the 6Gb versions.

The only difference is memory and 128 cuda cores. So the 6gb should be up to 10% faster assum8ng no memory limitation on the workings. Why would 1 year make a difference in perf? It's not like they release new core versions very often.

The last set of wu's I ran were all smaller in size or at least a shorter time to complete, but they dropped my 780 Ti PPD from 350k down to around 316K. Just looking back 2 months it took 78 wu to hit 4 mil in points and this month it took 106 wu to hit the 4 mil mark. So they have changed the wu in some fashion and it did affect my PPD. Looking into a new card and want to know what people are getting on a GTX 1060 6Gb.

Hey Kram, I have a 1060 6gb, that I was lucky enough to win. Average PPD is between 350k-400k depending on WU of course. It will do around 10.5 - 11,000,000 per month. Not much of an OC.

That's pretty good. What model do you have and how is the fan noise while folding?

"What model do you have and how is the fan noise while folding?" It is the FTW ACX it runs around 73 degrees, and very quiet actually. I had a 980 ACX folding that was quite loud that I sold. I couldn't lower the fan and keep it cool like the 1060. The 1060 fan RPM is low, I can't look at it right now. It is pleasantly quiet though. https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-6268-KR

This is with the 1060 3g. I don’t play the “stare at the top right ppd lie box” game. Over the next 2 days, you will see the average on my page. On the 1st, I will turn all gpu’s on and let them fold.
This 1060 3gb is folding at 2100mhz.

2100MHz I was planning on letting it run on it's own clocks. The card in my link shows a 1860MHz boost clock.

Never settle for less. I will try bump it up more until I see errors, then I will back it down 2 bins. It is only 5 days old so far, and I keep it in the garage where it is nice and cold, so it never heats up above 50c right now.

It would have been nice to see Core 0.19 or 0.20 be released by now.

For the price difference you're not going to get much of an appreciable difference between the 2 cards (3 and 6 gig). I'm honestly amazed at Scarlet's ability to do over 400k. Making me want one of those cheapos. They sip power, so it is definitely worth it. For the amount of power your 780Ti is eating, the 1060 is a no brainer haha. I'd say maybe even jump to a 1070 if you can afford it. Heck even the 1050ti when overclocked can do 210k ppd.

Got it on sale for $289.99, the extra PPD will be worth it in the long run.
