Hoping someone can help me figure out what I need to do to use the ports on my EVGA 640 (P/N: 02G-P4-2643-KR). This version has a mini-HDMI, a DVI-I and a DVI-D port. I'm currently running dual monitors (extended) off my Gigabyte motherboard (one is a VGA monitor, the other is a smart TV, using the HDMI port on the motherboard).
I have another VGA monitor I want to set up as a 3rd monitor on an extended display, but I think I may have the wrong adapter to hook it up to my EVGA card. It's a DVI-A to VGA adapter. When I hook up the extra monitor using that adapter, the system doesn't detect it. But perhaps it's just a configuration issue.
Unfortunately, I'm unfamiliar with the ins and outs of DVI display, so I'm not sure if my problem is the wrong adapter or a bad configuration. A little help, pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    you need DVI-I to HDMI

So if I understand you right, I need an adapter with a male DVI-I and a female HDMI?

So I'd need another adapter to plug into that HDMI end, with a female VGA, in order to use my VGA monitor? I don't understand why my DVI-A to VGA adaptor doesn't work, then, as that would accomplish the same thing, wouldn't it?

For a 3rd monitor on the same GPU one has to be native display port I misunderstood. What is your motherboard, your issue is your card only has two ramdacs

That's what I'm hoping I can do, but it doesn't detect my monitor when I hook the other VGA monitor via the adaptor.

Sorry, I don't understand.... what do you want a picture of? the connectors on my EVGA board? Here's the board: www. evga. com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=5abfe4f7-78a0-4cf8-98ac-d1b6578aff4c and here's a picture of the connection on the board:  i38.photobucket.com/albums/e127/dcamp2626/My%20Snapshot_2_zpsbcpf0udb.jpg

    Ok

What you need to do, plug your two primary monitors into the GT640, plug your 3rd into the motherboards VGA port. Go into the bios on your computer and look for internal graphics and make sure its set to enable instead of auto.
