388.13 is being Forced Today and I find it Odd the MS would Push a Driver with Known Issues.
Anyway I use wushowhide.diagcab to hide NVIDIA Drivers when needed, today I had to run it 2 Times for stop it this time.
It will cause all Folding to Fail as well as all BOINC GPU Projects.
 
Also Today GOW4 is a whopping 33 Gigabyte Download alone and this Caused the Folding Client to not get any new WU.

I have to run wushowhide.diagcab before I check or run Windows Update it seems.
The wushowhide.diagcab was not really made for the Fall Creator Version on Windows 10.
I now run wushowhide.diagcab in the AM and in the PM to stop 388.13 from Installing.
When not at home I will start Disabling Windows Updates altogether as our All Mighty MOD GOD points out.

Mine doesn't update like that because I set up my group policy. Windows Updater always says that certain updates (drivers) are disabled via my System Administrator.

You must be on a Windows Domain then, that is not the Norm for Home Users.
Are you running Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise?
What about your Home Computer?

I only run Windows Pro. No domain needed, just the group policy editor. Should work on home versions as well.

Anything you put into group policy will say that.  
You get a generic "*Some Settings are managed by your orginization" and a link to View Configured update policies on the Windows update screen.
You need to go into GPO to enable the setting.
Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Update / Do not include drivers with Windows Updates.  Change it to enabled and no more driver updates.
Many more options are in there as well.  I only did the driver thing as I want all the other updates.

On the GOW4 *16GB If I pause the update I do get a WU.

Windows 10 Home by default doesn't HAVE the group policy stuff.
There are ways to work around that, though - but I don't have any of the links handy any more since I stopped using Win 10 due to it's MANY MANY issues.
 
 

Issue is Now Fixed.

Well MS in their infinite wisdumb updated me last night.  I've been running the hideupdates tool almost daily.  I am extremely angry as I've been running 372.90 for quite some time now with no issues and suddenly now they decide to upgrade me, again.  Aside from doing a group policy, is their any other surefire way to disable this crap?  I'm seriously at the point where I am just going to do what I did for my 1080Ti and just build a dedicated folder and install Linux on it.  UG.  I am so fed up with this big brother crap.  I'm running windows 10 Pro.

I did a fresh install of win7pro, I did not install any Nvidia drivers before I did all the all win updates. GTX980ti
It installed driver 388.xx, now no matter what I do I can not install 373.xx
I get a compatible hardware not found error.
The Nvidia driver page even under old drivers section does not go back past 355.xx
What the heck is going on.... grrrrrr
I can install anything 355.xx and newer, they see my hardware ok This is a GTX980Ti
Not they messed up win7pro too

I did use DDU in safe mode and tried installing the 373 in safe mode.
Anything older than 355xx would say no compatible hardware found.
 
I may try reinstalling win7 again,then install the Nvidia driver right away, so maybe if it installs newer drivers when it updates, I can roll back to something.
