Hello :)

I am new here, sadly I'm joining because of an issue I recently had.

While playing a video game (Overwatch) my screen turned off, and from within the case there was a small burst of burnt smell.

I quickly turned off the PC and opened the case. I traced the smell to the videocard (GTX 980 TI) so I tried to turn on the PC a few minutes later just in case but the PC wouldn't turn on.

I put on an old video card instead and the PC turned on without an issue.

I tried placing the GTX 980 TI in a different PC and the same thing happened, it wouldn't turn on with it on.

I really didn't want my awesome card to really be gone, but it seems it passed away :(

I had bought the video card through Amazon in August 2015, I didn't register it back then (I just did, I never really register anything, bad habit I guess), but I have the order number and the video card serial.

Could I get an RMA for my video card, or is all hope lost and I need to buy another one?

The card should still have warranty. To get the full 3 year warranty for the card simply upload the original invoice to the evga website. After the invoice is uploaded you can start the rma process.

What a relief! And where should I upload the invoice to? Or is there some menu if I start the RMA process where I could do this.

I was hoping to call EVGA tomorrow, since it's kind of late right now, but figured since I had created the EVGA account I could ask here since it seems pretty active hehe.

I just uploaded the Invoice, does it matter if the invoice comes with other items as well?

I bought it through Amazon (sold by: Amazon.com LLC) and that day (since I was building a new PC) I bought other items as well including another EVGA product (Power Supply) I should probably register as well, haha.
