hi all, i just built a new pc for rendering and illustration
i wanted to put in my old 780sc ACX alongside a new 1080Ti but the 780 just wont work. If i plug in the screen cable to the 780 i get black screen after nvidia driver is installed, and when booting the screen freezes at just before displaying the login screen. I suspect the machine runs perfectly fine behind the black screen though.
When using screen trough the 1080 i get to see a code 43 in the dfevice manager on the 780.
I tried all PCIE slots with all gpus, all the same, also lots of bios flashing and CMOS resets, and fresh windows installs and older drivers and DDU wipes etc etc etc to no avail also made sure all cables are plugged in properly. my corsair hx 1200 likely isnt the issue either
i guess its either firmware, vbios or motherboard 
 
has anyone experience or toughts on this?

yes the 780SC has been working perfectly fine on my former pc for years, and i have just retested it and still works perfectly. 

fundamentally the issue happens as soon as i install the nvidia drivers: the 780 just dies and goes black, then i reboot.
upon rebooting it freezes at the end of the windows loading wheel (the one made of dots). I dont think it really freezes, i just think it doesent feed the cable anymore...
