Hi,

I want to find the 1070sc's CPU match.  Currently my FX8350 is a huge bottleneck.  I want to upgrade to the CPU that goes hand in hand w/ the 1070sc.  I will use it mostly for gaming.

(DDR4 Corsair Vengeance of some high frequency + an Asus or MSI board)
Core i5 7600?
Core i5 8600?
Ryzen of some sort?

I would appreciate your input.

if you go intel id pick 8600 over the 7600 but at the current price of an 8600 if your not into high refresh rate gaming a r7 1700 is going for the price a 8600k is , I feel at this point games using more cores is inevitable as even Intel has move up there core count this year. if you are doing just 60hz monitors i myself would probably get ryzen but if you want to do above 60hz like a 120hz display intels i5 would probably edge it out in cpu bound games as a majority of them care more about single core power then bunches of threads

The 60 vs 120 hertz is another thing - I want to be able to hook up an HTC Vive or whatever comes out next (waiting for <$300).  I'm also big on single core performance because I'm still not even close to finished playing the games I currently have; all big titles up to '16 or so.

I'm thinking 8600...  It's relatively cheaper than going 1070 SLI to realize that the 7600 just ain't cuttin it to begin with.
