So what would you guys do? My 27" monitor is overclocked to 75 sometimes 100Hz and is 1440P. I have no complaints and it looks great. But... there is a sale on a LG 34" ultrawide but it's only 1080P. 34" would be pretty cool but I am worried about the resolution drop. I am running a 1080 gtx so it will push either just fine and a 1440p ultra wide is just more than I am willing to spend. I was thinking if I don't use it for my main, I could use it in my recording studio and ditch my dual displays but some say that productivity on a 1080p screen that big is ugly....
Any thoughts?

    agent8,
IMHO I think you should stay where you're at. I jumped to a (Korean) 2560 1440 from my 1080 which was smaller and noticed a huge difference. When my upgrade eventually failed I returned to the old 1080 monitor and was immediately greeted with dullness. I ordered a new 2560 1440 monitor and am back to much better performance again.

Wait until you see a bigger monitor that has equal or better resolution than what you now have on sale.

The important issue here is whether or not you are happy with what you presently have based on the resolution. If you aren't happy with the quality then it is time to look towards something new...maybe 3440 x 1440 or a standard 4K monitor.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to hang on to what I have since I am pretty happy with it. I see a pretty substantial difference just on my desktop from a 27" 1080p so I imagine it would be even more noticeable on a 34"

I don't think it would help the image no matter how big you went if you're going less resolution.
