My question doesn't really fall under the category of a problem; it's more an issue that perplexes me.

I have two PCs with EVGA GTX cards:
  • A Dell Vostro 270 with an Intel i3-3220 processor and an EVGA GTX 750 card, and
  • A Dell Inspiron 3847 with an Intel i5-4460 processor and an EVGA GTX 1050ti card
Whenever I update drivers on the Vostro, NVidia requires that I reboot the PC; whenever I update drivers on the Inspiron, I don't have to reboot the PC. Does anyone know why a system with a GTX750 would require a reboot when a system with a GTX1050ti wouldn't? I've searched for answers and found nothing.

Are the drivers the exact same version for each PC?

Yes; the drivers are exactly the same and - each time I update them - I have to reboot the GTX750 machine. Again, there is nothing wrong with either PC, it strikes me as very strange that NVidia's drivers would work differently for each. Any ideas?

Isn't a good idea to restart the computer after any driver update?
I always reboot after the NVIDIA driver updates anyhow.

I have seen some oddness with that also. As I have had the prompt to restart show up at the end and other times I have seen it not prompt for it. But for them to function correctly you still need a restart
