Hi, I'm sending my 980Ti Classified 2.0+ for rma and i'm wondering, will i get a 980Ti, 1070,1070Ti or even a 1080? and if i where to get a 1070/Ti, what model would i get ( sc, ftw etc)? Thanks in advance, Jakub

I read almost all available threads. I am still very confused. It looks like a lot depends on happy luck. I'm little afraid to get a regular 1070 in place of Classified, I would be totally happy to get at least 1070Ti which may not have so many extras but it is several % faster.

''It looks like a lot depends on happy luck. I guess a little bit of something is better then a lot of nothing , just see what they offer and shrug shoulders and move on . know better next time and add that to your experiences . just talk it out with your service rep on something satisfactory you can live with

just to add if you look at there product pages there are no 900 series available at all new or B-stock/ refurbished ??? I would think your chances of a 10 series goes up somewhat for a replacement card ???

Yeah, better working 1070 than dead 980Ti . I do not think EVGA will refuse to replace card, I had a positive experience with their service. On stock clocks 1070 is tiny better than stock 980Ti, but Classified is premium priced because of OC features and designed for pretty heavy OC (dual bios, lot of pwm phases, better cooler etc.). So when it comes to the situation of maximum performance that can be achieved, 980Ti shows the advantage. Find on youtube movie "GTX 980Ti OC (GOLDEN CHIP ASIC 84%) vs GTX 1080 STOCK" on "Extreme Hadrware" channel. Effects are interesting. Maxwell was a very successful generation, it must be admitted. I hope everything will be positive :)

'' I hope everything will be positive :)'' well, that's to be seen after its all said and done . that's all based on what ''THEY'' feel is the next best replacement could be a lower 1070 reference type card ?/ then like me a 10 series don't support my needs as a 900 series will [no os support [xp] no dvi -I [for my analog crt monitors I still fully use ] , and so on . a 10 series for me would suck big time here for me and my use and needs with it I would have to go buy another card to take up the slack the 10 series cant do [and funny it costs as much money and don't do 1/2 as much ??] lets see a 900 card that's covers all my needs for 500 bucks or a 10 series that 500 bucks and don't ?? ....lol..... ya, i'll buy that [not] keep fingers crossed and good luck

I think it depends most on that it was Classified edition.

From what I've been told I will more than likely get a 1060. It's a nice card and very close ro my 980ftw in single card performance, but no sli which is a bummer. If only I had been playing newer titles back when I first got this as a present. It would jace neen replaced already and I would have a 2nd of whatever was sent. As it stands now, I'll probably end up selling what I receive without taking it out of the box and getting a newer card that is sli capable unless I get really lucky. Too many real life responsibilities have prevented me from doing much in the wat of pc part purchases

may depend on what 980ti classy you had ?? like if you had the low end one with the reference clocking you got the lesser sc card in exchange ?? [for example ] there were like what 5 - 980 ti class's released , so ???? maybe his model was the more ''top end '' 980 ti classy so he got a slightly better card back ???

More likely it has more to do with the refurbished stock that they had on hand at that particular time.

ya, your at there mercy - it could of been just as easy for evga to say no and send your card back with a too bad so sad note . look how many got a 1070 ref at best ?? I bet they can say the same on that luck ??? then you look at the specs on 10 series between the models of 1080's not much to brag on there between them like a sc and a ftw . like 13mhz between the clocking ?? wow weee.... [opinion]

Sent in my 980ti Classified, got an 1070 FTW back... feels kind of bad, since the 1070 isnt realy of same performance. Nvidia list´s it as better performing, but in most benchmarks it´s not better and specially in games its not perfomring better. Im disappointed, when i see what you guys got as replacements.
