2 versions but no description of differences or why you would want one over the other.
Currently running v6.1.16 and steam is not running so I presume that is the standalone version?
& if I upgrade to current version is uninstall of old version required?

Stand alone can be open and ran anywhere but there are not steam achievements

Steam version has achievements, but requires that you run steam to use it.

If you haven’t noticed, logging into steam every time you want to use something is annoying, so the standalone is better.

I don’t think it makes a difference. Steam will tell everyone you are playing precision xoc if you load through steam... like it is a game instead of software.

For anyone trying to learn about PXOC that stumbles across this thread like I did...

I initially wanted SA version but went Steam after I learned I needed to create an account here to get SA version.  I'm a little burned out by all the accounts you need for things these days so I figured it's easiest to use an account I already have.

Then steam notifications started popping up during the OC scan I thought this can't be beneficial.  I'm trying to have a program test voltages for an expensive new graphics card and Steam is interrupting an OC scan with notifications and "achievements"?

Uninstalled the Steam version. Cleaner this way IMO.
