Which evga gtx 1080 ti variants are allowed to step up to the unannounced next gen?

Hi everyone, sorry for the trouble but I was looking at the step-up support page and it says only the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition GAMING is available for step-up for highest end graphics cards. Does this mean that when the next nvidia flagship graphics card is released, for example gtx 2080 or gtx 1180 etc., only the 1080 Ti SC Black Edition GAMING is allowed to step up to the gtx 2080 or gtx 1180? Thanks and sorry again for the inconvenience.

    No. It means the black edition is the highest available option you can step-up to.

    @Sajin: Awesome, thanks. So if I get the evga gtx 1080 ti ftw3 now and if the gtx 2080 or 1180 is released within 90 days of my purchase, I will be able to step up my 1080 ti ftw3 to the gtx 2080 or 1180?

    Yes, but the 2080 or 1180 would have to be added to the step-up list before you could step-up.

    90 days is 90 days. If it was extended, it wouldn’t be 90 days and there would be no reason to call it a 90 day limit.

    Do you choose what you are stepping up to when you submit the step up request or when your step up request is approved?
