Team Which Processor to you think is better the E5-2667V3 or E5-2667V4 for BOINC Crunching.

Motherboard S-2011 R3
The only difference I can really see is this: (TSX-NI)
Transactional Synchronization Extensions (TSX-NI) is an extension to the x86 instruction set architecture (ISA) that adds hardware transactional memory support, speeding up execution of multi-threaded software through lock elision.
Intel® Transactional Synchronization Extensions (Intel® TSX)
I found a few compare sites and they show that the V3 is a Better CPU.

    V4 seems to be the better of the 2. HT management seems to be better than the V3.
     
    Window shopping, or do I need to go shopping also??

    TSX-NI looks to be something that the programmers would have to implement, Not sure it is something that BOINC would use if they are
    building for everyday computers.
     
    They V4 seems to have almost a 13% increase in memory bandwidth according to the spec sheet as well as as a 25% increase in onboard chache.
     
    I dont like the CPU boss site personally it feels like they just found a bunch of generic data and made a "Tale of the Tape"
     
    Here is a Chart from PassMark - It shows the V4 slightly ahead.
    I think I would go for the one I could get at the best price if there is a significant difference, or the V4 if not.

    I am now thinking V4 as well mostly because of better HT usage and maybe TSX-NI for the Future.
    Waiting for my Quote from http://www.wiredzone.com/ so I am really not Window Shopping.
    Now that my 4P is down I wanted something that would run well for the next 3 to 5 years and AMD CPU's really suck.

    Thought you were running an 1800X in one of your machines.
     
    I think both Intel and AMD suck sometime, so I look for the best value for my money and application at the time.

    I cant speak for the server mobo as I have never messed with a server (yet).
     
    But the cooler, I dont really care for its looks and think they are trying to do a lot with it. A couple quick videos I checked out show some
    Noctua air coolers working better in a smaller form factor.
     
    I have AIO units in 2 of my PC cases and an air cooler in the 3rd.  I have had an AIO die in one and it sucks to have to spend the full amount to
    replace it.  The air cooler if the fan dies thats quick and easy to fix as I have extra fans laying around that can keep me up and running.

    That is not an AMD Server CPU like the Opteron.

    Thanks, my other T630 are running a pair of PROCESSOR, E52680V4, 2.4, 35M, BDW, M0.
    I am hopping that the Intel® Xeon® E5-2667 v4 3.2GHz will give me a little edge over some of our other Power House Teams.

    LLR currently uses a slightly older version of gwnum that doesn't have Ryzen detection support in it yet. The newer versions do detect Ryzen and activate existing FMA instruction path. In my testing elsewhere, it doesn't actually give that much more, only a slight difference. When AMD made Ryzen they chose not to put in as much FPU resource as on Intel, so per core/clock, they do about half the work. As such, an 8 core Ryzen performs similarly to a quad core Intel.

    So it's not only my problem? Hi  I have just assembled a 1800x ryzen system and even if the Boinc benchmark said it's a litlte faster than my i5 3570k, real results are awful. On project 321 the average time on the 3570k is 55-56.000 and the average on the Ryzen is over 90.000 Secs Run time and SOB project have the same problem with 150.000 vs 219.000 run time secs The System is OK, temperatures are low thanks to the Noctua NH-D15. My motherboard is an Asrock x370 Taichi and don't have any problem, Ram are Ok, not the fastest around, just 2400 MHz but they worked fine on the 6600k I sold to buy the Ryzen. This results are with using 50% CPU of both system, there's no OC. Now I will try to switch from Windows 10 to Linux just to see if there is an improvement or soon I'll sell this stupid CPU and go back to Intel. I had buy this system only for use it with Boinc and F@H and I'm not happy in both the projects, with my 980ti to have the same point that I had on the Intel system I have to left over 50 of the CPU free or PPD fall down fast.

    Doesn't sound like he is having a pleasant experience. 
     
    So far I am happy with how my 1700x and 1600 are crunching.  But guess I will have to watch for the projects that don't play well with them also.

    So far the only BOINC Project that the 1800x runs circles around Intel is VGTU but even the 1700x could keep up.
    We never did find out why the 1800x was so much faster than the 1700x.
