I just installed the newest drivers because i got the new MNordor game and now my comp is not recognizing my 980ti. Went into device manager and it said windows has stopped this device because of problems. I'd appreciate any help.

If you're saying that it worked before the new driver install, then uninstall it with DDU and try an earlier NVIDIA Graphics Driver..Do a Custom (Advanced) install only choosing PhysX System Software along with the Graphics Driver.

Or, use DDU before installing that new driver..Roll from there.

Listing you system hardware and OS is generally helpful too.

will it recognize it with out the driver installed  on the windows default standard vga driver  or / safemode ?

ya, if the card was working good and the latest driver with it don't I would do a uninstall  then redownload the driver  and retry it

may also look at any driver feedback threads  to see whats maybe reported

also  '' Manually find drivers for my NVIDIA products and manually install them ' [no auto update]   and start with a custom install with just the driver only first  [that's all I ever install anyway and maybe PhysX witch I really don't need ]

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    a feedback thread to start

may also try to remove the card  and reinstall it  maybe something like on of its golden fingers just somehow lost connection in the slot  or psu cable ?

nothing else go back to that old known to work driver you were just on or  the next best latest driver that will work ?

People are reporting that if you are using certain modified BIOS (Voltage?) , Nvidia Driver 387.92 will stop the device and give an error 43. I am running Windows 10 with three 980ti SC's in SLI with the 1420 Modified BIOS and all three cards report Code 43. Went back to 385.41 and am up and running. May be a combination of BIOS, SLI and Windows Versions.

Lots of people with modded vbioses aren't having the issue.

My vbios edit is fine. Clearly nvidia has a bug they need to fix.

in that feedback link I gave on page 7 I think show that from 2 guys on what lone gunner says

'' Clearly nvidia has a bug they need to fix.'

like one guy said NVidia seems to brake as much as they fix  .    heck for my 900 card I still use 355.82   I try later ones but go right back to it  ..   heck I should of stuck with my AMD card cause in drivers I don't see where I gained   . all the drivers I test drove and liked I save  , but that 355.82 been or seems to be the most solid so far for my need/ use .

I don't know but I do feel latest drivers are more geared to help latest release cards  like the 10 series and the rest are just ''supported''   then something they fix or do for the latest cards  may not be so great for older series   and could cause these type issues with them [????]

with games I get that  prompt  ''you need to update your driver '' thing I just X it out and proceed to play the game   99% of the time I don't see where the latest driver would do anything  and the game still plays fine on the old driver its crying over  [opinion]
