Greetings,

New evga supernova 1600 P2, I like it a lot, and will buy more.

I wish to drive it using 220V AC input.  Currently running 110V AC input, but 220V is available.

I do not see any switch (like the old days, some ps have switch 110/220V). Does this unit auto-switch? Or do I take it apart and jumper?

Assuming I wire a 30A 220V breaker properly AND find a 30A rated plug adaptor, the unit should be fine and happy?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums.

Input voltage for an EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2 is 115 - 240 VAC, 17-10A, 50 - 60 Hz and it auto-switches to using the detected voltage, there's nothing you need to switch..Be aware that the 1600W line of power supplies uses a heavy duty C19 type cable..See here for the cable information and considerations.

@bob16314, Thanks for fast reply, and welcome words.  Also thanks for the link to that reference page.

Pretty sure my unit came with the heavy duty C19 cable you describe.  I believe they were the factory cables, there was a nice bag for all to be in.  Cable on the ps end matches the image in that link; and has a standard US 3 prong wall socket male plug on the other end.  So I will continue to use that C19 cable for connecting input to power supply.

But need to find a short adaptor cable with 115V female one side, and 220V some-type-of-male-plug on other side.

I think I have 2 choices for 220V wall socket, one like for a clothes dryer, typical 30A.  And another type with 4 prongs that lock and twist.  Looking into that, but thank you for the confirmation about auto-switch.

I really don't recommend this. You're much better off finding a C19 to 240v power cable than trying to kludge together 2 different power cables; this can cause fairly large problems at the wattage this power supply is designed to operate it.

Thanks for the advice.  Found a cable on APC site that is C19 to 240V NEMA, and rated to 16A (at 240v).  This is the way to go.  Thanks again.
