Is it just me or has shadowplay and GeForce experience become a major ballache in recent months?

My "Experience" goes something like this...  I'll log off for the night and shadowplay was fine, recording videos with no issue and the next day I go to use it and it won't open. What the hell? OK so I open the GeForce experience panel from the start menu, click on the share options and I get greeted with an error saying "unable to open share"  reboot, the same thing.  It will not work from now on.

It used to do this every time an Nvidia driver update released and so I thought it was Nvidia being a pain in the ass forcing updates, but now it does it every damn week and it's driving me crazy.

The only way I can get it working again is to boot to safe mode, run DDU to completely clean the drivers out, reinstall the drivers and then it will work again for a random duration... sometimes 2 days.. sometimes 2 weeks it's just utterly random but sooner or later boom... it's broken again.

I'm really at my wit's end, it's driving me mad, has anyone else ever seen it do this?

I don't even know anymore.

Probably not the best place to ask but I figure there's a lot of very skilled people here so worth asking.

Thanks again :(

well ?? gforce experience along with shadow play is a NVidia gimmickware   and something I never install  [just the driver and maybe physx  only]

kinda the general consciences  on it

I guess when it is working proper some guys like it ? I just tend to avoid gimmickware when I can , but to each his own on that

one thing I did find funny is how one guy stated  ''NVidia seems to break more then they fix ''   these days with there driver releases [???]   I don't use latest drivers with older cards   and now seems like the 900 series is like a unwanted stepchild  .   may try a older driver like 355.82 and see if its older gforce experience works out ? [a more period driver for the 900 cards ]  its what I use , but not the gimmickware parts  of it

    good luck

Best thing to do would be to try some older drivers.

may also check any driver feedback threads like this driver  . don't seem to have many happy campers using it  so maybe one to skip

like I say if I get a good fully working driver I stick with it   never update unless I got no choice to do so   355.82 still rock solid for me as of today with this 980ti

    good luck

Thanks for all the replies, I guess it's unanimous that shadowplay is unreliable... great and easy to use when it works but randomly crappy.  It's working again for now with the drivers reinstalled but how long it lasts is anyone's guess :D

"gimmickware" I like that term actually... very appropriate.

Nvidia are lucky that I'm an EVGA fanboy haha :)

may of just been a install issue ?   I was going to ask if you get your driver from NVidia or GeForce ?    I prefer to go to NVidia and manually grab drivers  from them   I do see some complaints and issues getting them from gforce site   [don't know just my opinion on what I have seen around at times ]

    I never get  from here

all ways from here   [manually install driver]

I guess that's all user experience and opinion on that ?

anyway glad it now working out for you

    good luck
