what are your opinions on flow meters and indicators? im thinking about the koolance FM17n along with the frequency adapter, it would show me both visually and via a fan header the approximate flow rate and i could set it up to turn the pc off if flow drops bellow a certain point. not sure how much restriction this would cause and my pump is pwm so it already will shut down the system if it stops.

I use what you have posted above, I run between 2.5 and 3.5 LPM and have one in each loop.
I started using this one now.
INS-FM19 Coolant Flow Meter   Part No.  INS-FM19
    and
$37.99 SEN-FM18T10 Coolant Flow Meter with Temperature Sensor, 10K Ohm   Part No.  SEN-FM18T10
    I like and have mostly
$19.99 INS-FM17N Coolant Flow Meter   Part No.  INS-FM17N (Of 14 only one has broken during install)

    I have used
$39.99 Flow Meter Adapter With Display   Part No.  DCB-FM01 (No Software) &  INS-FM17N
    Manual - manual_dcb-fm01_d100eng.pdf

But I use $169.99  CTR-CD1224 12V or 24V Pump & Fan Controller With Display On All My Rigs.
This shuts down my PC if the Temp is to high, do not know about low flow and shutting down a pc.
    Manual - manual_ctr-cd1224_d100eng.pdf

Some still using the Old (With Res/Pump)
$299.99 RP-1250 Reservoir and Pump   Part No.  RP-1250 But No Longer.
Changing over to what is now on my X99 Rig  and CTR-CD1224

PS I Do Not Work For Koolance.

I looked at all those but i might go with just the converter and use my corsair link software to monitor it, were my reservoir sits i cant use my 5 1/4 openings which is fine since i dont really see the front anyways.

I'd just monitor the temps for auto shutdown - that is the ultimate reason to turn it off

true, i have that setup as well as the the pump rpm's. it's just a OCD thing that i want to know 100% of everything, thats why i installed two inline temp sensors for the coolant, one before it hit the Radiator and one on the output of my reservoir
