Way too many and I personally think they should focus more on keeping stock.  This also alienated many who bought the same card with slower VRAM within the last few months.  If I was EVGA, I would have just waited till Volta tbh.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

It's the same datasheet for both chips, the 110 and 120.  Only difference that stood out to me was the basically just the speed.

Considering that this thing should be faster out-of-the box and have theoretically more memory overclock headroom than the Kingpin...is the Kingpin or the FTW the flagship for EVGA?

Is there actual bios to update mine to 12 gigahertz?

Jacob stated they were different be an chips, so there probably isn't a guaranteed bios update for these.

Flashing BIOS on your 11GHz memory card to 12GHz memory speed will only get you an overclock to 12GHz on your 11GHz memory. Something you are probably already doing in Precision X or Afterburner. There is no guarantee your card's memory will be 100% stable at that overclock speed as it is a overclock after all, just set in BIOS and not manually through overclocking software. Even if your card's memory is 100% stable at 12GHZ, you will still be at the limit of overclock on your 11GHZ memory chips and could not expect 13GHz like the newer cards with 12GHz memory chips on them will most likely get. There is absolutely no advantage here other that the convenience of not having to manually overclock the memory using a utility.

Kingpin is still the flagship. I can do 13 GHz on my kingpin with the memory slider maxed out at +1000. =)

Better binned memory chips from Micron? Better silicon off the wafer? Process has matured over time and yields and quality are getting better off the wafers? Not surprising to use the same basic chips for faster speed versions when quality of said chips has improved over time on the manufacturing process. All chips on a wafer production are the same design. Manufactures bin them to get the speed models they want to sell. The best chips off the wafers are the flagship chip sold to you and me for a $1000 a pop. Lesser quality chips off the wafers are the ones sold as the middle of the road or low end market chips. They just cut the lines to the faulty cache, CPU die or whatever and make them a lower end model. 100% yield off the wafers is the manufactures goal to maximize revenue on that model line.

Shouldn't that be 12.2ish @ 1000 OC?  And then what would a 12 Ghz model OC to?  Supposedly they're already a better bin than the 11's?

Maybe I'm missing something here, I just came off a 4 day shift at my work.  To me both cards had to be in development at the same time but for some reason 12 Ghz version wasn't incorporated to KPE.  If the FTW3 v2 came out ~half a year later, sure, I get the concept of performance w/time.  But it feels like it's been barely 2 months and the baseline speed of this thing faster @ stock.

I got my FTW3 Hybrid running at 12110mhz stable.

Kind of a dud on the core clocks. Tops at 2038mhz. Boost to 2ghz out the box tho.

Nope. 1626 x4 = 6504 x2 = 13008. No idea how high they will overclock.

Sajin got up to speed from Maxwell->Pascal on PM.  Thanks!

I look forward to see some benches and how far this mem OC's compared to KPE.

Custom cards do not normally make it on the step up list.

Yep. Quite disappointed here. This isn't a "New Tech is always around the corner issue" it's refinement to an existing model. Nvidia set the standard for this when they released v2 of the Titan X Pascal and it seems AiBs are now doing the same. I can't remember a line which had such incremental updates like we've seen with Pascal.

Tried.., and tried.., and tried.., keeps coming up with a msg saying item has been removed from my basket due to the country you have listed (or something like that).., .., anyway.., I gave up.., then I had a brainwave. I bought a 1070 FTW 2 (which only cost me $750) and used the rest of the money to buy a Asus CH H VI, Ryzen 7 1700X, 16Gb G.Skill Flare X, and some fans...., ALL (including the graphics card) for what the Kingpin was going to cost me from England ($2000AU). I will pick up a new 1080Ti.., (or better) in Switzerland or Malaysia next year.
Thanks for the help.., damm shame the EVGA store doesn't have international shipping though..., hopefully one day.

Cheers

I have a 1080ti fe, and right now have the mem overclocked easily to 12420mhz, can go quite a bit higher, but +700 offset seems more then enough lol. I am under water so im sure that helps things quite alot.

Anyways, how well/far can these new cards mem be overclocked? Any reviews yet?

Not gonna happen since the FTW3 is 859,99 EUR already ;) You can expect a premium 40 EUR on top of that to get the original price of the FTW3 which was 899,99 EUR. Also, don't forget the 7 EUR shipping costs.

Why has the evga ftw 3 elite no thermal pads on the card from the factory? I see lot of video's that the reviewers on youtube must do by its own adding a layer of thermal pads on the card.

Is on the new elite card from the factory thermal pads on the cards?
